Globalization Benefits Companies and Citizens of Different Countries

Globalization causes companies to move their operations to foreign countries where labor is cheaper. This benefits citizens and companies of developed nations. It benefits the consumers because labor costs are cheaper therefore, the company will sell the product at a cheaper price. The business won't spend as much on labor because they moved overseas, so products can be put on the market for less money. Globalization also helps workers of developing nations. Sometimes it can be hard to find work in poorer countries, so when big companies move to developing nations it can help the people. The citizens can get work and can provide for families. They now have money to survive and take care of themselves.

Globalization Helps the Middle- Class and the Poverty Level

The article addresses the fact that poverty levels have decreased because of globalization. As developing countries become more involved in world economies, their poverty levels begin to drop. More developed countries began investing and trading with the developing countries. This cooperation led to many people getting jobs and escaping poverty. Another topic that is mentioned in the article is globalization's effect on the middle- class. Because of globalization, poverty levels have decreased. As a result, developing countries have seen an increase in their middle- class. Countries such as China and Brazil have experienced a growing middle- class in past years. The millions joining the middle-class are responsible for the increase in the use of goods and services. These people have helped national and global economies.

Globalization Positively Impacts Exports, Poverty, and Migration

This video talks about the good effects of globalization. It brings up that globalization has increased the amount of goods and services that countries export around the world. Second, moving jobs to countries with lower wages allows people to live in better conditions than they did previously. People have escaped poverty and have been able to support themselves and their families. By making products in foreign countries, businesses give them money so their lives are more prosperous and healthy. Also, globalization has allowed people to migrate. Some people will work in foreign nations and send their money home to family members. Migration also has an effect on cultures. As people travel from place they bring their customs and cultures along with them. Different subjects such as food, art, and music are spread from country to country. Globalization, for example, allows other countries to enjoy American films, music, and TV shows all around the world. Movies, books, and other aspects of entertainment are translated to different languages for people worldwide.

In this article, many cons are stated; however, I am only going to mention some arguments. One con for globalization is the fact that companies located in different countries around the world are becoming unjust on social issues that affect workers and the environment. Employees are working in unhealthy and unsafe conditions for very little money. The article also states we risk other countries copying or stealing our technology and inventions as we become more globalized. You can't ensure that your inventions are safe in countries that don't recognize copyright.

Globalization Can Damage our Environment

This video talks about the bad effects that globalization has had on the environment. First of all, the increasing population on earth has caused more and more land to be cultivated. Rain forests have been cut down and cleared. As the population grows, we need to make and consume more. We then start to use more and more resources such as water and fossil fuels. People have started using more energy because of globalization. This causes climate change to occur. There is a cycle of efficiency and ultimately things just keep getting more efficient and less expensive. Efficiency makes things cheaper, which makes them easier to buy, which makes the demand increase, then that increases efficiency, and the cycle continues. Each time we become more efficient with something we release more harmful fossil fuels or we use more resources.

Globalization Causes Overpopulation and Job Loss

Globalization causes people to travel from country to country in search of jobs and/ or a better lifestyle. 41 million immigrants have come to the United States over the last two decades. Illegal Immigrants and others are all crowding into a country as jobs are moving overseas. Companies want to move into countries where they don't have to pay workers as much, so they relocate to foreign places. The job market in the U.S. if teeming with workers who are willing to have lower pay. This makes the quality of life and the quality of goods decrease.
