As someone who’s led high-compliance programs, I see TCFD-aligned transparency as a key trust-builder—enabling stakeholders to assess climate risks and mitigation strategies with confidence. In the current era - shareholders, customers, regulatory bodies and employees, all have an increased interest in the ESG performance of an organisation. From a practical point of view creating commitments and adhering to the voluntary Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) prior to the mandatory date would have allowed them time to set up the systems and processes and ensures that the initiatives were fully advances and self-sustaining.

Creating these early would have allowed them to be seen as trustworthy and having a real commitment to ESG, rather than only creating the process due to regulatory mandates.

By using their knowledge of cutting-edge technology to improve both its products as well as its supply chain it allows them to react in real time to issues in the temperature of their product while being delivered.  Medicine of any kind is very temperature sensitive; a movement of a few degrees could degrade the product to the point where it no longer meets the specifications required.

Ensuring that their logistics chain will allow them to regulate their operational ability to supply goods anywhere in the world, in good form. Better logistics also allows them to prevent and predict possible shortages.

These choices will affect their environment impact but reducing the miles travelled by their goods, and carbon foot print, and reduce good that have to be discarded due to either being out of date or affected by temperature fluctuations.
