I just want to say thank you, thank you professor Randy for giving us an opportunity like this in which example is the key. And I say that the example is the key because his life itself shows us that when we want something we can achieve it regardless of age and even more so if it is about learning about our origin and our culture. This is a very inspiring act since many elders have left this world taking all that knowledge with them but to rescue all that knowledge and through storytelling let us know a little more about your culture was wonderful.

Thank you very much for your words and teachings Professor Randy.
Apart from learning about the teachings and world view of the Anishinaabe people this week, we are also reflecting on the point, "what life in Canada would be like if settlers had adopted the teachings of Indigenous peoples."
With what I heard from you and read from our course module, I believe we would all be living simpler lives. Simpler lives in the sense that we would share everything (resources, lessons, values) with one another so everyone has an equal chance to experience the good things of life and rely on one another during the bad times.

Moreover, I believe the Seven Ancestor Teachings is like the manual to living a good and peaceful life with those around me. As time goes by, I hope that I will remember to respect and love all living things; be truthful and honest to myself and to others; be humble and see others as equals; have courage to stand up for what is right and then share this wisdom of the Anishinaabe people.

It was truly unique and priceless to hear your experience with the oral tradition of teaching you, shared with us and to hear what you thought of the genuine differences between orally communicating an idea to someone who's listening to you and writing down that idea, and having another person memorize it.

This relates to me on a personal level, is growing up I had an IEP (individual education plan) which included a program that would read a book to me if I were to scan it in. Often today, I would much rather listen to someone on a video speak a lesson to me rather than read about it, as you talked about during class. you talked about how it's important we sit and understand a lesson, reflect on it. even today it's easier for me to comprehend a lesson in this class then the one right before it, simply because in accounting you're expected to read the material then memorized it then do it.

I really liked how you explained your experience and I feel like we basically experienced the real like oral story telling and the importance of it, as oral story telling is a great way of learning and enjoying the story the same time.it felt like how my parents used to tell about how my country was back in the days and their struggle. Honestly I think studying any subject and studying about indigenous is a big different as I am actually learning how people used to sacrifice their life daily for living.

Apart from the real study what mostly touched is how you shared your memories with your parents and relatives made me missed my family too, as it actually touched my heart.
