Setting <3

I think the setting is a very stern and strict place. On page 39, it says "Oh, no, dear husband, she replied, her voice drenched in fake sweetness. It will send you into the hands of the rebels. And believe me- no one will miss you when it does. (King) Get back here, you conniving b****! (Queen) Porter, let me go!" This shows that the place could be a very severe and harmful place to live.

The setting is a very dramatic place where a lot of drama is spread and said. On page 110, it says "Kiss me, she demanded. (Maxon) What? (Daphne) Kiss me. If you can kiss me and still say you don't love me, I'll never mention this again. (Maxon) I back away. No. I'm sorry, I can't." This shows that they're are a lot of girls that want Maxon and believe they can be in love!

I think that the setting is very nice and pretty place. It is a castle anyway! On page 31, it says "We came to a set of open doors, and even from the hallway I could feel the fresh air. The room was lit by noting but candles, and I thought my heart might explode from pure happiness. I actually had to touch my chest to make sure everything was still intact. Three huge windows were open, leaving their billowy curtains tiptoeing in the breeze. In front of the middle window sat a small table with a lovely floral centerpiece and two chairs." This shows that the palace could be quite large!

I think Amberly is very mature. She has been having a lot of headaches lately and she has been handling it pretty well! On page 58 it says "I picked at my dinner, not wanting to be rude, but my head was still making me feel sick. The nurse brought some medicine for me, and by the time Dr. Mission showed up, his hair slick from a shower, I felt much better." This shows that Amberly could have handled this much worse by yelling for the doctor or running out of the room, screaming! She has also mature because she has handled competing for Clarkson very well. On page 44, it says "Well, it's really none of our business. I picked up the playing cards they'd haphazardly slung around the table and started to shuffle. Bianca threw back her head and sighed loudly, and Madeline places her hand on mine. It is our business. It changes the entire game. This isn't a game, I answered. Not to me." This shows that Amberly takes all of this very seriously compared to everyone else who thinks it might be game. My last piece of evidence is on page 21, it says "I looked at myself in the mirror, and along with imagining Schreave tacked on the end of my name, I places princess right before it. In that instant I wanted him, the crown-every last piece of this-like nothing before. This shows that she will not take anything for granted that she could get!

I think that Clarkson is very judgemental. He likes to point out on people at what they can change about themselves. On page 19, it says "He titled his head. It's a very pretty color. I think it might be nicer if it was shorter. He shrugged and started to walk away. Just a thought, he called over his shoulder. I sat there for a moment, considering. Then, abandoning my cake, I went to my room. My maids were there, waiting as always. Martha, would you feel comfortable cutting my hair?" This shows the any girl in Illea' will do anything to win over Clarkson's heart. The next reason I think his jugemental is that feels the need to judge a person by how they look.

I think that Amberly is gets very upset over little things. On page 62, it says "A week went by. Clarkson didn't so much as look at me. I was heartbroken." This shows that just because Clarkson didn't look at her even once, that she can have a little bit of an attitude.

Clarkson's mom is very psycho. On page 46, it says " Her eyes met with mine as she ended her speech, and, stupidly, I thought that was a command. So I smiled. The queen was not amused, and she pulled back and slapped it off my face" This shows that even though people try to like her, she can still be very harmful and psycho.

The theme of this section of the book "The Queen" is that even though you don't feel like a princess or even though you might be different from anyone else, you might still have a chance. Even as stubborn as Clarkson is. On page 86, it says "The true issue for me is your caste, he confessed. Well, not for me so much as for my father. I'll need time to work out the proper way to address that, which means the Selection could go on for quite some time. But take heart, he said as he leaned in close, you will be my wife." This shows the even though Clarkson will take her hand in marriage, he is desperate for a wife.

The theme for "The Prince" is that you can fi
