         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong>Broader goal: </strong>Create a system for honoring student voice and make students into active participants in improvement work that will be sustainable beyond end of grants<br><br><strong>Challenges/Opportunities:</strong><br>- Some schools hold up leadership groups as displaying "student voice" but not uplifting a collective voice or creating equity<br>- Which students are left out of these opportunities to give feedback and how do we bring them in?<br>- Students may struggle to jump into the work because they haven't been listened to in the past<br>- Students may need to see students who share their identity markers in leadership roles as models for participation<br><br><strong>Questions:</strong><br><em>- What's the beginning of this work in terms of tapping students in?<br><br>- What is the frequency with which we use these methods to create real shifts without overwhelming?<br><br></em>- What are the practices we need in terms of supporting younger kids through improvement work?<em><br></em><strong><br><br>Some ideas:</strong><br>- HTH has students on the improvement team<br><br>- Be a Leader clubs that have student leaders/Influencer program to push different ideas. Open to all students.<br><br>- Students are given a stipend for participation.<br><br>- Cogenerative dialogues - take survey in PERTS, and then bring 8 students in (mix of students across identity markers) and then they generate a change idea<br><br>- Teachers get training on leading cogenerative dialogues through ILT meetings.&nbsp;<br><br>- Teachers have pretty substantial agency in choosing which classes they want to survey, but we also coach with probing questions to see the value in choosing different sections<br><br>- Teachers only survey one class to keep this data analysis manageable.<br><br>- Senior exit survey - incentivized completion<br><br>- Sharing student results back to them. Using client voices and showing them how they're being used.<br><br>- Focus groups asking students whether the work we're doing is meaningful and appealing to them and then have them create the informational videos</div>]]></description>
