Type 1 diabetes is usually developed in early ages. With type 1 your immune system is attacking anything in your body that seems like a threat. So most likely your own immune system killed off those good insulin producing cells and those do not develop again. This causes the pancreas to produce little to no insulin in the body.

Although they have some properties that are the same, they are also very different. Type 1 is easier to catch with its many symptoms while type 2 is easily missed because they appear more slowly. Management is different as well. Type one is controlled with insulin, a good diet and exercise, while type two can be controlled with just diet and exercise alone, but if its too uncontrolled medication such as pills may be given.
