ILT- Y Tomlin
The ILT consists of All Department Leads, using the ILF as a guiding document. The ILT is at the core of all decision making at The Brooklyn Green School. This year,  to accommodate our CPP (Creative  Pandemic Programming) The ILT has expanded to address items that would typically be on the Cabinet Agenda to ensure that we are addressing school wide system concerns and academic needs.   Agendas are developed based on school-wide student data (iReady, IXL, Solve Assessments, classroom scholarship data, Advance data, teacher/ administrator anecdotals, school culture needs assessments etc.)

Special Education Team- Barbara Charles, SpEd Coordinator.
The SIT Team consists of the In-house Special Education Team with invited partners (Psychologist, Speech therapist, Guidance Counselor, other agency team members) The SpEd team meets weekly to conduct all Special Education Related work (calendaring, IEP reviews, IEP Meetings, preparation and completion, etc.) The SpEd team develops protocols and structures to support best practices in SpEd. The Special Education Team presents during Coffee with Colleagues and staff meetings to turnkey new processes and to teach. The Special Education Team has presented on the district level.
The SpEd Coordinator works with me to identify which team members should attend the Professional Learning facilitated by the BCO. The SpEd Coordinator attends all Coordinator meetings.

MSQI Coordinator- Shira Engle
Works closely with the  MSQI literacy coach to support teacher school-wide needs, ongoing progress monitoring, data collection, assessment facilitation using a research-based literacy framework to identify professional learning workshops for teachers and leaders, and structured inter-school site visits. Secondary assessments are facilitated by the MSQI Lead who develops the data snapshots and reviews it school-wide during professional learning. This data informs  programming decisions (WIN periods, small group instruction, curriculum, lesson planning, professional learning). The MSQI Coordinator facilitates APTT,  parent meetings, staff PL and citywide presentations of Promising BKG Practices.

Programming decisions are made by the ILT based on various data points. The ILT makes recommendations and programs  are created by SR and TR, reviewed by the ILT and approved by the principal. 
Hiring Team Consists of New, Senior and Mid-Level teachers who alternate the leadership role which consist of working with the Principal and the ILT to identify school hiring needs, vet prospective hires, set up 1st and 2nd level interviews and facilitate recommendations to the principal who conducts the final interview and makes the hiring decisions.

Attendance Team- Yolanda Sandoval and I facilitate this meeting with the goal of turning it fully over to her. YS gathers and distributes weekly attendance data, creates weekly calendar invites, facilitates meeting, transcribes minutes using recordings and sends to district. The Attendance team partners with student Advisors to address individual attendance meetings. Attendance interventions are leveled (Meeting with the Advisor, phone call to parents, 2 levels of letters, Student referred to BKG Care Scholars program, Meeting with parent, GC and Principal.).  The Guidance Counselor is on the Attendance Team, conducts outreach, sets up meetings.

After identifying the need for students to receive more focused supports with the high school application process I decided to  offer this course to grade 8 students 1st semester and then switched to grade 7 students 2nd semester. Those rising 8th graders will continue this class through the high school application process 1st semester next year.
This process is coupled with the High School Workshop Series for parents.

At BKG every student has an Advisor.  The Advisor is the main liaison between the student,, family and school.  We added additional Advisory hours to ensure that someone is in contact with every student daily.  The Advisor conducts outreach regarding attendance, student academic performance and social emotional needs. The Advisor communicates with parents, staff and SBST in support of the student.

We work with our CI partners to implement Read To Lead-  Interactive learning games where students become the boss of a virtual workplace. Students play independently or in group settings.  to build literacy, writing, critical thinking and leadership. 
Impact:
Based on the data tracker that comes with the program, students who regularly engage with the game have shown an increase in overall performance. Data is aligned with the common core standards. There has also been growth with  SEL competencies based on the imbedded formative assessments. 

Bent on Learning (BOL)
BOL provides a visiting teacher in person (we pivoted to online this year) to teach Yoga and Mindfulness. 
BOL Impact: We attribute this to our overall school culture.  We have been identified as a "Respect for All School" based on our OORS data and our School Survey results.
MSQI
MSQI provides us a with a frame work for addressing the literacy needs of students to ensure that all graduate grade 8 at or above level in reading.
MSQI Impact: As a result of our MSQI status we have implemented data driven practices across content areas, including research-based literacy interventions, assessments and teacher development.
Future Giants
Focuses SEL supports and leadership development while partnering schools with companies that will conduct workshops. Additionally, FG has various initiatives.  We will be working with their Green Recycling Initiative in which our students will repurpose furniture under the tutelage of a furniture maker.
Impact:
In our first year FG supported us with alternative ways to address student behavior.  The success of the partnership is evidenced by our  0% suspension rate and our very low incident report (approx 3 total) in 3 years. 
Sheltering Arms
SA is the CBO that provides afterschool programming for BKG. 
Impact
Families have been afforded a robust afterschool program that provides social-emotional and extra-curricular supports to students.
Impact
Students have experienced great hands-on learning inside and outside of the building, including the arts, winter sports, skiing and tubing, to name a few.   
Trailblazers
Trailblazers partners with BKG to connecting our theme, eco-literacy to real life experiences.  Students have learned camping skills and environmental studies as well as had the opportunity to participate in weekend camping trips and summer camping.  We are currently working on a grant to offer year round camping and environmental science learning.   
Impact:
Too soon to tell. (but the 6 students that already participated loved it)
SMEL
SMEL offered entrepreneurial and tech support to our students last year.  This year, based on feedback about students' tech skills from teachers, I leveraged this relationship to implement a class on technology for all BKG students to ensure that they gain all of the tech skills needed to successfully navigate 21st Century Learning
Impact
Teacher feedback id positive, regarding students' ability to navigate online learning since they started this course.
Common Threads
CT provides children and families cooking and nutrition education to encourage healthy habits that contribute to wellness.
Impact
Common Threads has led our online health learning and cooking classes during the school day.  It has helped to increase family engagement and encouraged healthy eating habits. 
Kiddie Science
KS is one of our main partners.
KS presents fun, interactive, hands-on science workshops to our students.
Impact
KS has supported our gardening projects and has helped to get our hydroponic towers and outdoor garden boxes set up and available for science learning extensions. 
Isadora Dance Company
Teaches students An expressive, athletic, and musical form of modern dance. This program supports our Health and Phys Ed programming and exposes students to a new dance style. 
Solved Consulting
SC supports our data focused planning with a personalized data tracker that addresses all of our data needs.  Additionally they create all of our assessments under our guidance. 
Road Runners
Gives our students access to NYRR Races, community walks and runs.

Therefore, I use a number of data sources to program students for individualized Instruction WIN periods (What I Need). To identify learning gaps we use iReady Data, secondary screeners, DRP scores, state exam scores and classroom data to make programming decisions, classroom grouping decisions and to adjust teacher practice across content areas. 
During this year as a result of virtual learning I had to rethink interventions to ensure that they are virtual learning friendly. In math we targeted grade 8 students and programmed them for 4 additional periods of math each week "Math Gym". These are our intervention groups in literacy: (All of the below links can be emailed if they are not active) We would typically have a Wilsons and Just Words group but those groups can only be done in person so we added Phonics for Reading which we will keep when we are all in person.  Which intervention group a student goees into is based on DRP (Degrees of Reading Power) and secondary screeners (running records, TOSFR)

Our BKG Shared Drive houses all newsletters, flyers and resources.

Wednesday  Team Meet Up
Every Wednesday I host a Wednesday Virtual Meeting with all staff, to discuss upcoming events, school wide needs, etc.  SEL and Professional Learning are embedded in these meetings.
