Physical Fitness

Being physically active is a part of who I am. I grew up being in dance, and just playing sports with my dad in our front yard. Once I got into High School I tried out for the cheerleading team and made it, never being a cheerleader before I was very shocked. I took it so seriously and learned everything I could and ended up making it on the SLCC Cheerleading Squad in 2014. Cheerleading was my life for so long, and once I stopped I just wasn't sure what I wanted my physical fitness to be going forward to keep up with life. I started going to the gym, taking different classes, and learning about weight lifting, it has completely changed my life and mindset. I wake up every morning now excited to go to the gym around 5 AM. I love how it makes me feel and how strong I am getting, I am the heaviest I have ever been and only hope to gain more muscle over the next couple of years.

The outdoors has always been a part of my life. My family didn't travel out of the state a lot, but I have seen pretty much all of Utah. And for the most part of visiting all our mountain ranges and national parks I was able to camp in so many amazing places and see such amazing things that occur in nature and specifically "my backyard". I am also a hunter and have gone hunting with my dad as much as I can and I started at the ripe age of 10. Being able to see the wilderness through those eyes has really made me such a more aware person when it comes to tending the outdoors, such as hiking, fires, bugs, and all the glories that occur out there. It also makes me so thankful for the food that is placed on my kitchen table at every meal.

Adoption

Adoption is a very large part of my culture. First my dad on the right side of this photo is technically my stepdad, I have never called him that or seen him in that light as he has been the man who has raised me and cared for me like no other person has. I'm so thankful he is in my life and took me in as his own daughter. Now for my daughter, I had a baby at the age of 14, she is going to turn 13 this year, absolutely crazy how fast time goes! We have an open adoption, I placed right after birth. It has been the best thing for both hers and my families. Going through this hard situation and decision at such a young age really change me and has me looking at the world through different glasses then most of my peers. I'm so thankful for her and everyone that is in my life because of adoption, I would not be the same person without them.

Animals, specifically dogs have been a big part of my life. I have grown up with many different types of dogs, mostly "family dogs" and now I have two dogs of my own. I got Sophie (all white) when I was 19 I'm now 27, she was the first animal who relied on me to take care of her. She has really helped me through hard times, and has helped me grow up in so many ways. Then there is Millie who showed up and was the perfect tornado I needed in my world. She is the sweetest dog, and has really taught me what patience is. I believe I will always have a dog in my life, no matter my age.

Family is such a big piece of who I am today, the people who have surrounded me my entire life have truly helped me grow into the women I need to be. They were the ones who showed me what love is and how through thick or thin we are all in this together. I have a very close relationship with both of my amazing parents, they are like best friends to me that I know will never go anywhere. My siblings mean the absolute world to me, I am the oldest of three and have been able to watch them grow up and turn into such great adults. They make me excited to experience life and take it in one day at a time. Then there is my boyfriend Chandler, he truly has been such an inspiration to me and has helped me believe in myself. He has shown me that life can change in the best ways if we just work a little bit to achieve it, even if we are scared of the unknown.
