Let me borrow a quote from one of my all-time favorite artists Pablo Picasso. He said, and I quote,

"The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away."

Indeed, it is true. I personally would agree to him, it may seem like life is somehow an endless and tiring journey of knowing oneself, but it also to share that knowledge of the journey, and I would very much to become a noble man by doing so.

My current journey as a student teacher is not relatively easy nor hard, it's a constant love-hate relationship with the new concepts and old ones that I've encountered. I can still remember the day that I've encountered the concept of the four pillars of education, wherein UNESCO defined those as Learning to Know, Learning to do, Learning to Live Together and Learning to Be, where I learned that these pillars, reshapes and reorients how education be delivered in an international scope and by these pillars being the core in curriculums, it enhances the capacity building of teachers, students and stakeholders in making good and common actions that benefit the community and in turn the society, with this then said, I meant the idealization of the four pillars as something our society and even in an individualistic approach as student teachers be seen as a moral compass to guide us to present solutions to both new and age-worn challenges that we are facing in the present time and that is through education. With the mention of solutions, this prompts me to the presentation of the Batas Pambansa Blg. 22 also known as the Education Act of 1982, where I learned about the different established rights, duties and obligations of the education community in the Philippine society, such as how do we ensure access to relevant quality education and ensure educators' well-being for its delivery, and I would really love to also highlight the topic that I've encountered of what is Teaching as a Vocation, Mission and Profession. Honestly, prior to really committing in this undergraduate course, what I had in mind was that, teaching was a fail-safe contingency plan for my dream of becoming an attorney, since most of the pre-law course offerings didn’t exactly ensures one of a secure job after graduating, however, after really understanding and contemplating about this certain topic that I've encountered, something about it really hit me, hard. I now realize, although I'm pretty sure there's this thinking already within me, but now it became more clearer that I should be doing this, I should be pursuing teaching students, to combat propagandas that attempts to eradicate our history, because I've realized so far, that when we do not remember our history, we are bound to repeat it, over and over again. It's high time to break the endless cycle, so that someday growth and prosperity will linger in our inang bayan and children will have more vibrant smiles on their faces.
