The speaker on the topic was Joachim de Posada, who talked about a marshmallow experiment on delayed gratification, including how it predicted what participants would achieve later.

Although the children in the experiment were only 4 years old, they had already learned one of life's most crucial principles: the ability to delay gratification. Fifteen years later, the children who had endured the cotton candy deprivation were successful in every way, with the exception of good grades, good relationships with teachers and classmates, and well-planned lives. But most of the kids who ate the marshmallow had trouble getting into college or getting bad grades, and only a small percentage got good grades.

According to Joachim, the key to success is discipline, and it can be applied to everything. People who are very strict and disciplined with themselves generally achieve more in the future. Because this type of person is clear about what he or she wants and what he or she doesn't want, he or she won't be tempted or let up or give up on his or her principles.

The topic was addressed by Rita Pierson, an American educator, who summarized the core of education through her 40 years of experience.

Learning is all about understanding relationships, but education is all about making connections. Without a very strong bond, children will not learn very effectively. Parents and teachers, the first thing to do is to establish a relationship with children, to establish a good parent-child relationship or teacher-student relationship.

It is believed that no child would like to learn from someone he does not like. In fact, teachers and parents tell their children every day, in their little hearts, "what they might be when they grow up". This is the seed that teachers and parents planted in their children's hearts.

She studied the videos of many TED speakers and analysed the reasons for the more clickable speech videos, and she went on to conclude three tips on how to make yourself more popular.

One, Vanessa analysed the gestures of TED speakers. Speakers who made more gestures in a minute were more popular because gestures are very easy to be noticed by the other person, and enough gestures can release enough information.

Second, use a real smile. The difference between a fake smile and a real smile is very obvious, the difference is that a real smile will have the movement of the whole face muscles, while a fake smile is just a slight movement of the corners of the mouth, giving the impression that it is not sincere enough.

Thirdly, when communicating with people, don't always ask them where they are from? Where is it going? Dopamine is the hormone that makes us feel happy. For example, if we are on a train, we can ask each other about the food in our hometown, which will remind each other of the time we spent with friends or family enjoying food, thus stimulating each other's brain to release dopamine and making our communication more pleasant.

The speaker of "Loneliness in the Social Age", whose research interests lie at the intersection of psychology and technology, focuses on the "good" and "bad" aspects of technological development, the good being that it brings us new ways of living and even changes us. The "sorrow" lies in the over-reliance on technological products or electronic devices, which have deviated from the original social circle of "human beings" and from some of the inherent goodness of human beings. The machines cannot replace the comfort and love that humans bring to each other in the true sense of the word, but the "virtual" love and comfort is a self-deception. On a psychological level, there are psychological reasons for this over-reliance on machines. For example, the fear of social complexity in the real world, the fear of maintaining intimate relationships, the fear of "loneliness", the desire to be listened to, the desire to be noticed at all times, these psychological needs require more courage and effort to be satisfied in real life, especially when compared to the virtual society. The maintenance of these relationships and the acquisition of these feelings are more complex than in a virtual society. In the end, only humans can give what they need. Rather than being overly dependent on technology, we will not only lose our ability to be loved, to be cared for and to be free from loneliness, but we will lose our ability to socialise, to reflect on ourselves, to understand and be understood, and to be truly "alone" because we do not have the ability to be "alone". "We become truly 'alone'. Just as a person living in a sterile environment becomes too fragile to survive, the virtual world is such a "sterile environment" where everything seems to be in order and we can delete, modify, edit, etc. to make our online selves more perfect, but this false "perfection" can make our online selves even more perfect. But this false "perfection" can make people more vulnerable than they think. Therefore, it is better to put down our mobile phones, leave the social networks, talk intimately with our families, give ourselves space for self-talk and return to reality, to the real thing!
