In the poem the speaker asserts that so much depends upon ,the red wheel barrow ,glazed with rain ,by the chickens. This is relating to three different things the wheelbarrow relates to the work being done. The glazed rain is the rain that the farm needs. The white chickens is just saying that the animals are healthy.

When I picture this scene i see a small chicken coop with about 7 chickens in it, early in the morning with what seems to be dew setting on a red wheelbarrow right beside the chicken coop.

The disillusionment the title refers to lies between the nightgowns and the dream. The vivid dream of the drunken sailor contrasted with the dull normal life. The gowns all being identical highlights this contrast. The gowns, representative of people, are dull. They conform with the others since they are the same. The author describes the colorful dream while in reality, they are living mundane, dull lives. The disillusionment is that while ordinary on the outside, these people are living happy lives through imagination.

https://www.litcharts.com/poetry/wallace-stevens/disillusionment-of-ten-o-clock

In the poem "Mirror," the speaker is the mirror itself. The mirror claims to be non-judgmental and only reflects what it sees. The woman who gazes into the mirror is dissatisfied with her appearance, which has changed over time. The poem's central purpose is to analyze a woman's perspective of examining herself in the mirror. The woman looks at herself daily and feels she has lost her beauty as she has aged. The mirror feels like a companion to the woman as she has used it daily. By telling the story from the mirror's point of view, the poem achieves its central purpose of describing the woman's connection of loss of beauty and aging.

Explaining the Mood

The overall mood of this poem is apocalyptic, with Yeats describing the chaos and anarchy loosed upon the world due to a lack of morality. Yeats says that the best and those who are moral lack any conviction to act upon defending morality and virtue, but those who bespeak and commit evils are full of passion that ensures their success. He speaks of the death of innocence and the second coming being not of Jesus Christ but of some ¨rough beast". This beast he envisions is the Sphinx, a being of immense knowledge and power. Yeats describes how its 20 centuries of sleep were nothing but nightmares, and now that it has awoken, and plans to return.

How does this poem do more than just evoke an episode out of mythology? What is the significance of the question asked in the last two lines? How would you answer it?

The poem "Leda and the Swan," other than just covering mythology, explores themes such as consent, abuse of power, and sexual assault. Additionally, some interpret Leda's subjugation as a metaphor for Ireland's suffering under a powerful oppressor. The violence in the poem echoes the brutality of historical conflicts, such as the Irish Civil War. This interpretation suggests that Yeats may have used the myth to symbolize Ireland's struggles against domination and violence, even if not explicitly stated in the poem. The last two questions of the poem suggest that Leda may have gained godly knowledge through Zeus' power, enabling her to foresee her future before he released her. While there is no explicit indication that Leda knew her fate, some believe she gained divine knowledge, expanding her understanding beyond mortal limits. This evokes the argument that Leda's fate was predetermined, regardless of any knowledge gained, hinting that her fate had already been decided, no matter her choices.

"The Waiting Room" theme is apprehension, change, and the fear of growing up. A waiting room is the perfect representation of all these feelings because they provoke contemplation and mental preparation for potentially life-altering news. The little girl in the story is alone in a very solemn, grown-up setting where the reality of adulthood hits her like a ton of bricks. It is an important instance in her life because it is the first time she is realizing that she will eventually change and grow up. The dark, winter setting foreshadows the inner turmoil the little girl faces throughout the story. Bishop is particular with details throughout the poem because the story eventually becomes a memory that the little girl is recounting as a grown woman.
