Such as when he is wanting the fifty cents from his mother, he tries to manipulate her into letting him have it or let him go work for it. Travis is smart for his age because he understands that he has to work for money. Travis is manipulative because he is still young and still learning. He is experiencing new things in the world, and in his situation with money he learns to become manipulative.
