It isn’t the largest city in France but approximately 42 000 people live here.
During the summer we can go to the beach with our friends, we have very hot summer here and the wind is always with us during the winter.
Finally, we maybe haven’t the biggest and most popular city in France but I guess our city is a really good place to live, so Welcome To Istres !

It reaches a height of 50 meters.
This water jet is located more than 80 meters from the edge in the cove of Castellan. It is the largest water jet in France!
While the largest water jet in the world is in Geneva, Switzerland (its height is 140 meters).

They have a seating capacity of 2700 people and have a 45-meter track.
A feria is organized every year.
The arena was built in 2001 , is also suitable for organizing cultural shows in the open air.

Sprites, gingerbread men and especially The Santa Claus make the trip to meet Istreens. Some girls of our middle school, who practice dance, participate to this parade. More than 1300 hectares burnt, due to the strong Provincial winds that fueled them. All firefighters worked hard that summer, especially the Canadair pilots. 
Canadairs are planes that land on water, to scoop it up and pours it on the fires to put it out. With the pond nearby, they can fill up very quickly and battle the fires efficiently. These airplanes are parked at the airport of Marseille, next to the longest landing strip of Europe.

Marseille is the second largest city in France behind Paris.


The summer in Marseille is very hot, to cool off you can go to the sea, the creeks or even take an ice cream.
In Marseille they are plenty of monuments to visit : like Our Lady of the Guard, Old Port...
So you need to visit Marseille !!!
