Case 3: Trouble at Kerr Lake (Fictional Story)

Each fall, Kerr Lake’s water levels drop, but this year boat owners noticed large piles of debris and cloudy water near several public access points. Some locals said the water looked darker than usual.
Testing showed slightly higher bacteria levels near the marinas and campsites. Officials suspected that trash, human waste from old septic tanks, and runoff from campgrounds were washing into the lake after storms.

The signs of pollution that are mentioned are bacteria, trash, and human waste. Humans are dumping trash into the lake and other stuff like human waste is being washed into the lake. To improve water quality I would keep the water clean, conserve the water, and avoid leaving trash.

The signs of pollution are litter, waste pollution, and water pollution were mentioned in the story. That is because at the end it mentioned that trash. runoff, and waste were suspected to be the cause of the dirtied water. Human activities that could be the reason are people emptying their waste tanks near water, fertilizer being used and the rain washing it into the water, and people throwing their trash onto the ground just for it to be carried into the water later or it just being thrown directly into the water. It also mentioned debris so some construction could also be being built around the area and debris could have fallen into the lake. If I worked at the park, to improve water quality, I would make sure trash got picked up regularly and make sure that there are enough trashcans around so people can throw away their trash. I would also make it to where campgrounds have to be a little further away so that people's waste tanks are not getting dumped into the water.

the signs of pollution are how there debris in the water and the water is darker than usual and theres trash and waste in the water
some human activities that could be affecting the water is how the water is in a public place a some people throw there waste in it and there could be gas companies near by so a lot of smoke in the air and the waste of the campers at the campsite also
I would make signs around the lake saying "throw your trash away in the trash bin" and I would make sure campers take there waste elsewhere and try to camp farther away from the lake

If I worked at the park I'd add a couple trash cans so people are not just throwing their trash on the ground and into the lake. I'd also try to replace the septic tank.

The signs of pollution would be the trash thrown out, bacteria, human waste,and runoff from campgrounds. The humans keep throwing trash in the lakes and it just keeps polluting them. If I worked for the park I would just put up a bunch of signs to not throw trash and put recycle bins down for them to use instead.

There could be trash and a lot of algae in the water making it darker. What I would do to improve the water is to put a fence around the water like the holly wood sign. And put an sign that trash goes in the trash can or out with you when you leave.

Human waste and runoff from campgrounds are mentioned. Some human activities that could be affecting it is that people don't try to clean up after themselves. I would suggest that there be more people who are park rangers to stop that from happening.
