      <title>Center Directors’ Perceptions of their efforts to Create Inclusive Environments in Preschool Settings by </title>

      <description>As a part of the pilot Quality Rating Improvement System (QRIS) in Washington DC, participating center directors must create a continuous quality improvement plan (CQI). The CQI plan incorporates probing questions related to inclusive practices in their programs. The purpose of this study is to investigate common themes related to inclusive practices that center directors identify as they are completing the CQI plan and developing goals related to inclusion in their programs.

         <description><![CDATA[<div>We had a little snafoo with providing commentary via padlet, so I copied and pasted Guy's commentary here: "Carlene,&nbsp;<br><br></div><div>When are children of preschool age tested and determined to have a disability? I’m curious because I am not aware what percentage of preschool students are diagnosed with disabilities. So I’m wondering if “Inclusive Environment” refers strictly to special education students included with regular education students.<br><br></div><div>&nbsp;I know you are in preliminary stages, but I don’t really see the connections to existing research and how it leads you to your questions. Is the goal of your research to determine if the CQI is improved, or if inclusive practices are improved, or if teachers’ inclusion practices are improved? Since I have no experience with a preschool population it is difficult for me to envision what a plan for inclusive practices would look like. Since your research will be targeted to directors and other teachers and staff involved with the preschool population, it would make more sense to them."<br><br></div>]]></description>
