However, it was only in 1922 that the term graphic design was coined by a illuminator.
Many contributed to the history and development of graphic design. Among them worth mentioning are sumerian tribes, for their invention of writing and the Egyptians who produced papyrus manuscripts and fifteenth-century printers and compositors to whom we owe the creation of printed books.
Unfortunately, most of the graphic designers who contributed to the development of the history of graphic design have not receveid sufficient recognition and are for the great majority unknown.
