As the semester comes to an end

This year has taken quite the bend

The amount I learned from this class is great

And more enough I see my future fate

I have nobody to thank but Professor Hughes and Grace

They taught me valuable lessons and put me ahead in the race

The race of life that I get to achieve at my own pace

Once again thank you Professor Hughes and Grace

You two are the dream team and I will use this class forever

For my life, families life, and all other future endeavors

May I add something random

Together we try, laugh, cry

Alone we try, laugh, cry

The only difference is

Together we're one

And Alone we're together

I see that now and how amazing it is

Refreshing as well in all its beauty

To end it off I'll say once again

You two are amazing and thank you for everything!

I have thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated this class over the last 16 weeks and it was a pleasure to get to know you and experience your kindness firsthand. This course made me realize that while everyone has their own paths and struggles, we are here together and just meeting every Tuesday morning gave me some stability in the chaos. I hope we can all come away from this with hope for more mindfulness understanding and self compassion, as I have learned to identify my emotional capacity and the individual thoughts I race through.

I am so grateful that I was able to join in on this class. I feel I gained tools to help me understand myself and be compassionate and empathetic towards myself as well as others. I also enjoyed all the funny moments in class definitely my favorite class this semester.

It's such an honor being your embedded tutor and getting to spend so much time together! I'm in awe of the way you genuinely care for each of your students. You strive to make every person you talk to feel seen and confident in themselves. Taking Mind 101 in spring 2022 still impacts me today and I give all the credit to how passionate you are. I’ve learned so much from you whether it be related to course content or how to navigate a classroom. Thank you for always believing in me and continuously bringing calm into my life. Your hard work has not gone unnoticed and I’m still so grateful to have connected!

I am very glad that I took this class because I learned so much that I can now apply to my life as well as help others with their struggles. I am very grateful for having such a wonderful professor and Grace, you guys truly care and made the class very enjoyable. I really felt like I mattered and I know how much Grace and professor Hughes cared for us all, I had amazing class mates as well and I wish them the best. Grace I know you will be a good teacher keep up the great work and professor thank you for being a kind and caring person, I wish I could have remembered more about what we learned but with four other classes its hard to remember, luckily I have the book which I can always look back to and remember the wonderful practices you taught us.

This class has changed my life for the better. I am so grateful for everything I learned in this class and the chance to learn it all from such a kind and compassionate professor. Deidre you have had such a big impact on me and I appreciate all energy you put into this class and the students who take it. I will miss being on your class Tuesday mornings and hope to end up in your class room again one day! Thank you for everything

I am so grateful to have taken this class and to have had a professor like you. You truly are so kind and patient with your students and the passion that you have for your course is contagious! Thank you for giving us so much grace and extending your love to us!!
