This is a demo lesson I taught using a mural for an OPTIC, which I taught during a unit on Mexico’s fight for independence from Spain. It features a mural of Miguel Hidalgo and was one of my favorite lessons with my 7th graders. You'll also get a glimpse into who I am and the amazing school where I had the privilege of teaching during my first year.
