1. How does a child of genius fit into the world of his peers or even of his parents?

I truly believe that a child genius never really fits into the world of his peers or parents. The article mentions that the child was home-schooled, graduated at 10, and then began college classes at age 11. This means that he probably had little to no social interaction during his home schooling and then was thrown into a college atmosphere after not even experiencing school with peers his own age. I do not believe that even the most intelligent child genius belongs in a college atmosphere with peers twice his age. Adding on to this, although his parents might have had giant dreams for the child…Is this what HE really wanted to be doing? His parents may or may not have put many pressures on the child; however, his brain isn’t at the maturity level it needs to handle any amount of intense pressure. Some children just have an extreme intelligence level and intellectual drive, but this does not mean that they should be pushed outside of age-appropriate environments.

2. Is a prodigy the product of nature or nurture?

I think that a child prodigy is the result of a combination of both nature and nurture. Nature may determine your natural talents and abilities, however, nurture may determine just how far you're pushed to go in the future. Usually, the parents of these children (nurture) put high expectations on child prodigies, starting a very young age. Every child has natural talents and abilities. It is how you shape these children as adolescents that determines whether or not they will become a 'prodigy' or not.
