one thing i don’t see discussed often, is that both are actually physically different. tom is described as a burly, buff, rather muscular man. this is a reflection of his equally strong and dominant, abrasive. demeanor. nick on the other hand, is depicted to be slim, modest in the way he dresses. this displays his personality through the way he presents himself.
