There were actual people around her: us, her friends, and yet she still preferred that notebook" (55). It had finally annoyed Kate to a point where she chose to snatch the book out of Olivia’s hands and rip pages apart from the book.  I predict that the notebook might actually heal the "friend group" and make it stronger later in the story.  The notebook always made Olivia's day better.  I predict that Olivia would show Kate and her other friend Georgia how valuable writing can be. To a point where Olivia's friends would change their perspective towards the notebook. For Olivia, journaling was a time to reflect on her personal feelings to vent and deal with her emotions. I can relate to that because art allows me to reflect.
