  •  Theravada temples are giving out different types of talismans with pictures of spirits, sacred syllables, and Buddhist symbols. These objects are now being made with the intention of protecting people from getting the coronavirus. 
  • Mahayana Buddhists have been praying to a  whole pantheon of buddhas and Bodhisattva for protection.
  • Buddhist organizations have been calling on Buddhist deities to help remove the virus from the land.

    Which makes sense as to why those that practiced Buddhism were encouraged to chant mantras to the Bodhisattva Tara for her protection.
