This statue was opened for tourists on 31st October 2018.
His name was Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He was known as the Iron Man of India and won highly recognized awards known as Bharat Ratna. He was born on 31st October 1875 in Nadiad India. He served as the first Indian Deputy prime minister.
Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was also a writer and wrote many famous books like Bharat Vibhajan and The Collected Works of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
He had many great roles during the independence and his main goal was to have a united and an independent nation.  He organised relief efforts for refugees fleeing from Punjab.

This statue is designed by Ram V Suthar. The statue is made of materials like steel frames, reinforced concrete and bronze cladding. It has an astonishing height of 182 metres.
The statue was funded by the Government of Gujarat and an estimate of around US$290 Million was the cost of build of the statue. The construction took 4 and half years to complete the construction.
The statue attracted over 128,000 tourists from all over the country and world in the first 11 days after inauguration.
