Dealing with critically sick patients with covid-19 or other contagious disease who are on a ventilator is sometimes risky to the healthcare employees. It is vital to develop a mechanism to remotely control the ventilator to avoid frequent exposure to help keep employees safe and reduce the spread of infection. This remote-control mechanism will enhance safety by assisting employees to control the ventilator from outside of the patient room. Moreover, it allows healthcare to save precious supplies of personal protective equipment. It also provides employees more time to focus on other clinical work. In addition, it saves time that will be wasted when employees don and doff protective gears.
