Fossils of that plant have been found in Africa, Antarctica, India, South America, and Australia. These continents are far apart, according to map now.

This old magnetism is called paleomagnetism. Study of it was vital in establishing the theory of continental drift.

In freshwater bodies such as lakes and rivers, these reptiles lived. You will notice that mesosaurus is found in the southern parts of Africa and the Americas if you look at the map befroe the continents shifted apart.
