Locking her door, getting into the right mindset, and preparing to actually read the letter, these steps are broken into smaller steps within each step leading to 6 steps. The reason for Dickinson going through 5 steps before actually beginning to look through the letter indicates that she was going through a sort of mental preparation to either be excited or disappointed by the contents of the letter, which indicates that the letter must be over a topic that Dickinson consider to be important toward her understand of herself and relationships with others. This also indicates that she may have some sort of mental disability that requires her to distance herself from society which would align with her creating everything in such a secretive and personal way. When  Dickinson creates the use of You, it becomes very unclear whether the letter is meant to be personal or impersonal, it becomes a hot mess once that You is thrown in, although it may indicate that her poem is able to be universally applied to all. Her breaking up her action into small details creates suspense because she wants to dramatize (make interesting) walking into a room to read a letter.

She first locks the door; that's pretty clear. 

She then pushes her fingers against the door, so "it" is sure for "transport"---the "it" may be anteceded by the door, so she can transport herself further into the interior of the room, with the door protecting her from the world. Pushing it with her fingers is like checking that it's locked.

Next, she moves far off to "counteract a knock"---perhaps she thinks if she moves far away enough from the door, she won't hear anyone knocking anymore, thereby "counteracting" the knock. 

The fourth step is drawing the letter forth, perhaps from her pocket or bag, and "pick a lock." The "lock" must be mental; perhaps because the letter is her only connection to the outside world, reading it is like picking the lock of the door that separates her from the world, connecting via a small avenue with the rest of civilization. 

The fifth step, glancing narrow at the wall and floor is like warily looking about the room, checking just in case, to ensure her solitude, that no one is watching. Since she does it with "the firm conviction of a mouse never exorcised before," she might be feeling like a small prey animal who must be protected from larger society, and the exorcism may refer to the fact that religion may have something to do with this dynamic. So she's glancing narrow at the wall and floor----making sure she is protected from everyone else, her connection to the outside controlled through the letter.

3. Emily uses the pronouns you, to not only make the writing more personal but to also show the true extent and meaning of even having readers to refer too. Also, the use of "you"' also give the letter deeper meaning.

3.  In a way, it is mocking the reader because they will never know the contents or who the letter is addressed to. So, the only way the reader to discover information about Dickinson and letter is by carefully reading letters that are still left. She is saying that reader will never know her "true" self because of the methods she take to hide her intimate life. A more intresting take is when one consider if she did this knowing there will be people invading her privacy. There is this thing about writing intimate letters, or anything on paper, where we all know and write with the mindset that no-one will read it except for us and the desired person, but even with a place for thoughts to be voiced privately they still aren't meant for a single person alone so I think when Dickenson comes out to acknowledge the fact that it is not only her reading, it will never feel like only her reading, the usage of 'you' just solidifies that idea.  It connects a little to the person, a little accusatory, a little acknowledgement that what she has written is visible to someone other than her. These are her steps to a letter, and thus a letter that is not secret and more than to just a single party. 

1. 2. I think she goes through these five steps before reading her poem to ensure that she won't be interrupted and will have her privacy. The way she's created a detailed process just to read this letter shows that either the contents are unspeakable or she is just a very private, secretive woman. This definitely isn't her first rodeo

She wants to ensure that she has properly made the setting in which she will read the letter with privacy and as much of a safe haven as she can.
3.  She is analyzing the process for the readers, and the use of "you" makes it seem like the readers are actually reading the letter with her. She takes numerous steps to ensure she is alone when she reads the letter, but still feels as though she will never have true privacy and singular access to the poem. This is emphasized by the last two lines,  "And sigh for lack of Heaven-but not
The Heaven God bestow-," her Heaven referring to a place of privacy. Also, when she includes "To no one that You-know-," she is in a way highlighting and accusing the reader that although they can view the letter, it does not have as much meaning to them as it does to her because they don't actually know the person. Creating her own reading space allows her to best interpret the contents of the letter and be fully present in what the writer is saying. 
3- Because her letters were not meant to be seen by a public audience, Dickinson is writing this poem for herself. She likely uses "you" to make the process more universal.
