Therefore these are some of the jobs that are the living sources of some lower educated and poor people. Unless the governments of each country in the whole world can unsure that these people can be educated enough to withhold other jobs, then reliance on robotics might not bring that much cons.

However, new technology will yield new types of jobs, similar to the introduction of the personal computer in the 1980s which led to technology support work, and online business. Therefore, I think that with the replacement of humans by robotics automation in some of the industries, we may be able to open new types of jobs which require specialized and educated people on information technology.

I agreed on your point of view. Even so, I think that our increasing reliance on robotics is a good thing. This is because nowadays, in this modern world, everything depends on the electronics and robotics. What you are using now including laptops and smartphones are being produced by robotics automation. Robotics automation can mass produce any products whereas humans can only make a few ones at one time. Humans does not have the reliability, accuracy and speed of robotics automation. Sometimes, human makes mistakes while robotics rarely make them.

That is a good perspective. Will Smith — 'Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create. Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice.' Fear linked to increased automation can be overcome if and only if the people are willing to understand the concept and mechanism behind them. When they really understand the concept, they may think that it will be a useful tools in life. For example, smartphones. In the 2000s, the smartphones are not really acceptable in the commoners and it is only available for the rich. Despite that, what we can see now is everyone including the children have the smartphones on them 24/7. Therefore, our increasing reliance on robotics is necessary in order to keep up-to-date in the world.

What is good if the manufactures and job results are more reliable, accurate and even lead to increment in the economics of the country if the people of the country is left behind and left with fear to the change? They would feel lost as if they can no longer control their own lives. Is it not that the well being of the people of the country is much more important?

I agree with Chun Jing that increasing reliance on robotics is necessary in order to keep us up-to-date in the world. It is undeniable to say that robotics automation brings convenience and improve the quality of our life. A very good example for this is the Touch 'n Go systems and SmartTAG which is used by Malaysian toll expressway and highway operators as the sole electronic payment system(EPS).The introduction of the automation payment system have eased the queue congestion at toll plazas which previously was operated by the workers. There are a vast variety of evidences proving that the robotics automation can render benefits to our society as the automated machine is able to provide high productivity through efficiency 24/7.

I see your point, Sophia, but the increasing reliance on the robotic automation does not necessarily provide fewer jobs to the nation. Robots aren’t necessarily taking jobs away from humans, at least in terms of volume, and it’s actually very difficult to track this statistic. This is because when a job function is automated, it often creates a new, different job for the human to do. According to MIT professor Daron Acemoglu, the robotics automation does not reduce the employment opportunity provided to the society by using the example of ATMs. ATMs took over the job of a teller, but the banking industry has not reported a significant change to the amount of people it employs as a result of the invention. Thus, it is unfair to state that the increasing reliance on robotics will increase unployment in the country as it still provides employment opportunities in different professions to the nation.

Miss Yashena, you got your point but all of us can't deny that robotic automation has become part and parcel of our lives that has brought a host of conveniences to us. I couldn't imagine the lives without these innovations such as ATM and smart phones.

There are a wide variety of reliable studies indicating that the industrial robots have been a substantial driver of labor productivity and economic growth. If robots are a substitute for human workers, then one would expect the countries with higher investment rates in automation to have experienced greater employment loss in their manufacturing sectors. However, based on the previous studies, there is no visible relationship between the use of robots and the change in manufacturing employment.

I don't agree with the point that the online payment and debit card blinded us from actually focusing on the cash flow and our expenses. We cannot accuse that an individual's money management skill will be affected by the useful technologies. Individuals with poor money management skill do not use their money wisely no matter what methods they use for their transactions.
