The children they work with are exhausted by the afternoon and so find it difficult to focus. It may be that we look to employ more teacher aides to work in the morning and less in the afternoon to meet the children's needs. SENCO or someone to notify classroom teacher at beginning of the day if TA is absent for the day. No transferring of allocated teacher aide time for another purpose, eg: if a child is ORRS funded then they are entitled to receive that time.</div>]]></description>

How about an app, that they could log into, to record their reading mileage....definitely something else is needed for these senior students. Also students that start part way through the year (we have many of them) have no chance of getting to 200 nights reading.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>A seminar/session with take home handouts for parents on how to support their child at school and how to deal with challenging behaviour their child demonstrates....and perhaps cyber safety. We could get a speaker from somewhere like the Parenting Place. This would let parents of our students know that they are not alone with dealing with their child's behaviour. Parents could then form networks and have a process to follow. Could have a prize as an incentive to get as many parents along as possible.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Consider renaming our houses from colours to something significant and representative of our community, eg: Takitimu, Maharaia, etc. Houses could have shirts with the name of their house on it. These could be a part of the uniform purchase or a fund raising initiative to create a sense of 'team' for students.</div>]]></description>

It could be a position with 2 units as PE and Whanau Engagement go hand in hand, ie: The person doing Whanau Engagement is good at getting people on board and this might help getting more parents/whanau involved in their children's sport at school....it's worth a try to get maximum buy in/support/coaching of sport and also creates a leadership opportunity for someone in our school.</div>]]></description>

The SENCO office is quite big and 2 people can fit in there- currently its just for one. No one owns an office or space.          <description><![CDATA[<div>An arrangement where Pepeha are started in the junior school and passed on through the classes in the school so as students progress they can add a couple of new lines (sentence structures) each year. By the time the students leave our school as Year 6 they will have an informative pepeha. This will save teachers from having to ask whanau for the same information each year which must be annoying for them.</div>]]></description>
