Character vs. society as the town was going against Tessie when they chose and killed her. Character vs. fate, when they were drawing out of the box fate chose Tessie. Character vs. character when each other the people threw the rocks at Tessie. Character vs. society is the strongest because most of the story is based on the town having Tessie as their sacrifice and killing her.

The irony in choosing regular common people to perform the lottery is that we can relate to the them and they think there higher than us. If more affluent people were to go into the lottery then it wouldn’t have the same affect because they’re actually higher up then we are. The whole idea of the lottery is ironic because In a lottery your supposed to win but in this you really don’t want to be chosen.
