Gab Voorhees - The object I chose that represents me is this gold ring with a small cursive g in the middle. I chose this object because it connects me with all of my cousins. I have 10 girl cousins who I am very close with and see almost every weekend. We have so many fun adventures together going to the beach, going shopping and etc. This object I feel connects us all when we are not together because we all have this same ring with all of our first initials. Our nana gave each of us these rings when we turned eight and I love looking at it and it reminding me of my nana who passed 5 years ago and my 10 favorite people.

Not just because he is my pet and I love him, but because for me he is a physical representation of my happiness and my struggle to recover from anxiety and depression.

This ring was owned by my grandma, why this represents me is because it makes me have a very big connection with her. This ring was passed to my mom and now to me and that is a big responsibility but my grandma said she was waiting for me to own it. I was also close with my grandma and now I feel even closer to her with having one of her rings on my finger

My claddagh ring is an object that represents me. It was given to me by my mom and when I where it I feel like I have her strength. I wear it every day and it is very important to me. It has sat on my finger during some of the most difficult times of my life. It represents my Irish heritage and reminds me of my great grandmother who made the voyage from Ireland to Canada all by herself. The claddagh also represents values that are important to me. The heart in the center of the ring represents love. This can be love for a significant other, a friend, or a family member. Family and friends are very important to me and my ring is a constant reminder to spread love to those around me. The crown represents loyalty. Loyalty is a trait that is very important in any sort of relationship, and my ring reminds me to be loyal to my friends and family. Finally, the hands represent friendship. The hands hold everything together. Friendship is very important to me and I am so thankful for my friends and the support system they offer me. I wouldn't want to be walking through life with anyone else. My ring reminds me to go out into the world and always stay true to myself and the values that I hold dear.

I chose a cactus because I think it best relates to no change. I'm not a person who likes things to happen unexpectedly without warning. I prefer to know what's going to be expected and stay mostly in the same routine. You expect a cactus to grow, but in time and slowly. Nothing is happening to change that growing process. I think this cactus represents me because as much as I want to grow as a person, I want to take my time and not waste it by rushing.

My Grandma's necklace

The necklace pictured was given to my grandma from my father in his early years of being in the State Police. It's the triangle, says New Jersey State Police, and has his badge number carved in below. When my grandmother passed in 2014, my grandfather had given me a box filled with some of her jewelry. This necklace was in it and although I can't wear it as much as I'd like because of cheer, I make sure after my season is over to wear it everyday. I'm not necessarily allowed to wear it during softball season either, but it's easy to hide under my Under Armor. I think this represents me because my grandmother was my best friend and although she lived in Florida where I couldn't see her as much, she never failed to do surprise visits or call me at least 3x per week. She's also the strongest (mentally and physically) and smartest person I've ever met and I always hope to live up to that. I feel closer to her while wearing the necklace and I know she's watching myself, siblings, and cousins.

When the average person looks at a pair of shoes, there isn't much that pops into their mind. When I look at a pair of shoes I think about the places discovered, the people met and memories made. The pair of shoes in this picture are simple black converse. I took them off my dads hands freshman year, and have been enjoying them ever since. I asked my first girlfriend out on a date with them on, I hit numerous gym records with them on, and I've made countless memories with my friends and family in them. I believe new shoes are a canvas, and dirty shoes are the finish product of living life to the fullest.
