Family is a very important piece of most of our lives, seeing as we, as people, wouldn't be who we are today without them. This story discusses the strengths of blood bonds vs. friendly bonds, and how even when you know your family is in the wrong, you will still defend them regardless. Likewise, this play talks about intentions and their possible outcomes. Oftentimes people use their intentions as a scapegoat in order to escape taking accountability for any issues caused after making a decision. It's important to remember that regardless of having a good intention, there can always be consequences. Lastly, this show touches on vaguely absurdist elements, with parts of the show being so absolutely insane that people just have to pause and think about the action just made. Art tends to follow a trend of being "normal", so when this play was released, it challenged the strict narrative of the times, and seemed to have been ahead of its time, as the theatre of the absurd movement started just a few years later.

Even with the play being just over 80 years old, its stories and morals have been able to stand the test of time, and many of its lessons are applicable to modern-day living. It's a dark comedy with undertones of absurdity, and seems to laugh at how random or strange life can be at times. I mean, not everyone has insanely murderous aunts, as well as a brother who seems to have inherited that same career path.

All in all, this show is an important story to tell, especially to younger generations as time goes on. Family is important, just as important as ensuring your actions don't go askew. We should always remember that life is insanely absurd in the way it chooses to give us memories, stories, and experiences. These experiences are what make people who they are; family does indeed shape us into the people we will always be.
