8.00 am - I was introduced to the Deputy Director Mr. Mohd Ashrul Ashraf and the others staff at the Tourism Malaysia Wilayah Timur on my first day. After that, Mrs. Azlina who is industrial supervisor was briefing and informed me about the activities/tasks that I would be doing during the industrial training. Among the activites/tasks that I need to doing during internship such as recording visitor information in the visitor record book, learning how to accept and answer phone calls, follow-up calls and opening and closing the equipment at the front desk office.

In afternoon, Mr. Khairol assigned me the responsibility of opening 7 rollup banting which has a different pictures and classify it according to the labels and pictures. Then, according to the sequence of pictures and numbers inscribed on the bag, each banting rollup must be tagged to make it easier for other employees to reuse it. From this, I need to create a Microsoft Words document and rename as Banting Rollup List 2022, which has been organized according to the image above and will assist employees in selecting the appropriate banting for the next event.

Next, Mr. Khairol also assigned me and other practical students the responsibility of disposing of obsolete finance documents according to the year indicated in the file. Additionally, I also received information from Mrs. Azlina and others staff that I had been sent to Kelantan with practical students and other tourism officers to run two programs, namely the Economic Stimulus Plan Roadshow (PRE 2.0), the Tourism Plan Support Grant (GSSP), and the Malaysian Tourist Incentive Grant (GAMELAN), and the Festival MATTA Fair Kelantan, which takes six days.

2.15 pm - The Director of MOTAC, MAH Malaysia, MyBha, and others were among the VIP visitors and other guests that attended the opening ceremony, and we were entrusted with greeting them.

3.00 pm - Mr. Iskandar Mirza, Senior Deputy Director, performed the opening ceremony for the Roadshow (PRE 2.0).

9.00 pm - We were asked to go to Mydin Mall to open and set up a booth for the program organized by MATTA for 4 consecutive days from 24 March to 27 March. I was tasked with putting up rollup banting and posters, organizing the merchandise store and preparing flyers to give to visitors.

10am - 10pm - Mr. Iskandar Mirza, Senior Deputy Director of Tourism Malaysia, officially opened the MATTA Fair Event.

On the first day of the MATTA Fair Event, I was tasked to set up the booth in advance with other co -workers by arranging the information and flyers supplied on the table as well as bags to be distributed to visitors who came to the carnival.

Next, we also hung flatline cards and posters on the booth to further enliven and also attract more visitors to come to our booth. We can see the excitement at the booths of each travel agency that was accessible at the time, and this is based on each agency's inventiveness.

I was also instructed to roll up a pictorial poster to give to guests who came to our booth. Here, there are some interesting posters we have distributed for the purpose of opening the eyes of visitors about tourism info in Malaysia.

Apart from that, we have handed complimentary mementos in the shape of rattles and refrigerator stickers to guests who come as a token of thanks, as well as flyers promoting Malaysia.

10am - 2pm - On the last day, I just top up flyers, vouchers and souvenirs at the booth to give to the visitors in attendance. Here, we will ensure that every visitor will get a free gift that we have provided so that they do not miss the information related to tourism in Malaysia.

There are performances of dikir barat, silat, and other traditional Kelantanese dances at the carnival. Visitors will be more interested in learning about the Kelantan community's way of life and culture, which is distinct from that of other communities.

The MATTA Fair Carnival has ended at 2.00pm. We as the staff of Tourism Malaysia Pahang and all travel agencies are asked to tidy up and empty the booth that we have used for 4 days to look neat and clean. We also had a photo session and got to know those involved in the event and exchanged souvenirs with each other as a token of remembrance.

Mr. Irwan Shah asked me to register and update the names of the office employees on the new month's punch card. I was also asked to replace the list of office staff names that were on the whiteboard and retype using Microsoft Words for tidying purposes.

In afternoon, me and others practical students tidied up the meeting room to the original after the completion of the interview session that was held on March 28 recently. This is because, the meeting room is always used for official events and others purpose.

Next, I had the opportunity to chat and share tips with Mrs. Salwa who is a staff in human resource management at the Malaysian tourism headquarters about the function, purpose and importance of Personal MyStep which is currently used for every Diploma or Bachelor's graduate student to get a place in any ministry provided.

The ceremony began with a speech from Mrs. Zuraini, Director of Tourism Malaysia Wilayah Timur which conveyed important information and details related to the journey that had taken place soon to all staff.

During the meeting, other staff also presented the report associated with their field and there is little addition to improvement in each program that will take place. Next, Mr. Irwan Shah has asked me to fill up the information on the envelope that would be sent to the sender accurately, based on the information he provided.

As a result, when conversing with callers, proper conversation etiquette must be followed because it reflects Tourism Malaysia to the outside world.

Aside from that, I was given the opportunity to hear about one of the staff's experiences, Mr. Fairdaos Bin Othman, a Senior Officer of Tourism Malaysia Pahang, who spoke about life's obstacles, job prospects, work experience, and the benefits of participation in Tourism Malaysia.

Meanwhile, considering the difficulty of obtaining a permanent position, Mr. Fairdaos has inspired me and other practical students to continue studying the world of tourism and not to give up studying in whatever subject we choose one day.

I was also tasked by Mrs. Rugayah to make a copy of the presentation slides for the Roadshow PRE 2.0 program to be distributed to guests of 50 sets and must be arranged in order. The content in this case is designed to make it easier for them to take quick notes and comprehend the information that the presenter is attempting to deliver.

I and other Tourism Malaysia workers participated in the PRE 2.0 Roadshow Program, which took place at Shahzan Hotel from 4.30 pm to 7.30 pm, with the goal of providing elected officials and tourism organizations with information about tourism assistance grants and program advantages.

I was given the task of setting up the venue, greeting guests, keeping track of attendance, and assisting the management. In my perspective, this is an opportunity for me to acquire and use tourism culture and knowledge more generally, particularly while working with a tourism organization.

Among the guests who also attended the event were representatives from Tourism Malaysia, Malaysia Budget Hotel Association (MyBHA), Pahang Tourist Guides Association (PHTGA), Bird Group Taman Negara and others. Here, there are many inputs that can be obtained from the slots presented by Mrs. Nor Aida and Mr. Kamaruddin on the tourism assistance scheme which is now starting to open.

As a result, I need to double-check that all of the information I'm looking for is available and in the format I've specified.

For me, it is a useful task for me because it allows me to add knowledge about tourism and fill in all of the information. Apart from that, I may experience utilizing the Tourism Malaysia website system, which is used by other employees for a variety of tasks such as recording monthly office records, inputting office information data, and paying employee salaries.

In addition, I must note the caller's name, caller's data, date, and purpose of dealing on the day to make it easier for me to record in the telephone register.

Here, I have made a follow-up call for all the lists of names obtained to inquire about whether they are still active or not under the Department of Fisheries Malaysia to date. In addition, there is an initiative that has been done by TM Eastern Region for individuals who are interested in the fisheries sector that is the opportunity to obtain a tourism license for free. This is to attract the interest of fishing boat owners as well as exposure to the benefits that will be obtained from the license.

Here, there are various interesting packages that have been provided by entrepreneurs such as visits to fruit -based product manufacturing plants, beehives, zoos and so on.

There are some agrofarm that provide accommodation to visitors with very affordable prices and the best service in order to attract customers to visit again. This activity indirectly exposes the community to the variety of local fruits available in our country while enjoying the natural beauty around the orchard.

Therefore, we need to seek information from the website and also make follow-up with plantation operators around Pahang to update the existing information whether their business is still active or not.

Here, I need to update the promotions, activity attractions, and also the prices provided at their place in order to make it easier for us to inform visitors about the attractions available in the area.

Mostly, 2/3 of the farm operators say the fruit season is visiting in July and August. At this point, many visitors will come and enjoy local fruits while spending holiday time with the family. Various meal tour packages are provided by farmers and entrepreneurs to attract visitors to visit their places and this coincides with celebrating the joy of enjoying fruit with the whole family.

So I was asked to print, sort and paste the names correctly. Mrs. Rugayah instructed me to prepare a copy of the list of invited guests who will attend the Roadshow Program (PRE 2.0) on April 6 at the Shahzan Hotel. As a result, I've been trained to practice speaking properly while talking with anyone, especially when it comes to tourist job, because it reflects image on Tourism Malaysia.

In the evening, a small banquet was held with other staff to celebrate the arrival of Ramadhan Al-Mubarak which will be celebrated soon. There are a variety of interesting foods and get the opportunity to share stories together during the fasting rituals in the past.

8.00am - 4.00pm - Today, Mrs. Azlina and Mr. Irwan Shah tasked me to mark computer equipment in the office according to the codes displayed on each piece of equipment. Mouse, system units (CPU), printers, keyboards, and computer screens are examples of office computer equipment.

Following that, I must place all of the equipment in the system according to the labels provided. This makes it easy for the administrative personnel to keep count of the number of computer equipment on hand without having to repeat the task.

Today, I was assigned to attend a meeting at the Pulau Chekas Tourism Compact, Hulu Dong Raub, with other TM Wilayah Timur Office staff members Puan Fauziah, Encik Irwan Shah, Encik Fikri, and Cik Athirah. It took 3 and a half hours to get from Kuantan to Raub's Chekas Island.

When I arrived, I was given the task of gathering information and updating tourism items available in the Chekas Island resort and surrounding areas in order to submit a report to Mrs. Zuraini. As a result, I and other colleagues have made changes to the tourist facilities, services, and amenities, as well as unique attractions that will be advertised to the general public in the future.

In addition, I have the opportunity to attend meetings with tourism organisations such as the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC), Tourism Pahang, Tourism Malaysia, and the Homestay Manager to discuss future homestay development. Working with other corporate companies might also benefit from this programme in terms of gaining experience and knowledge.

In general, tourism in Malaysia is continually improving and diversifying in terms of advertising tourism products to the general public as well as the outside community, with the goal of assisting in the development of future tourist destinations. One of the responsibilities I have is to create and prepare necessary products such as brochures, posters, panting, stationery, gaming supplies, and other materials to be distributed to the guests.

After that, a meeting with other officers was convened to plan the course of the 3-day programme so that there would be no uproar or disorder while performing their separate jobs there. Here, we addressed the program's course and task division for the three days so that everyone can complete tasks in a timely manner and that no problems arise if the work is not planned from the start.

In addition, I must provide a tiny and simple form on which visitors can write their name, phone number, and answer (seeds/kg) for the two games that will be open to them throughout the event. In the afternoon, all office staff and practical students gathered in the meeting room to review and itinerary programme at Berjaya Megamall.

Mr. Irwan Shah has also assigned me the task of writing a PosLaju form containing office documents, which will be mailed to the appropriate recipient's address.

Before returning, the entire crew worked together to produce goodies in the shape of hampers and souvenirs for players in the Tourism Malaysia game held during the MATTA Fair Pahang event.

Beside that, we have categorised old periodical books and pamphlets according to needs and chosen only those that are significant and consistent with the present format. Here, I need to make sure the meeting room is always in a tidy condition and ready for use before any event is held.

We also have made a potluck where each staff member needs to bring or prepare food from home, then serve it to eat together. After the ceremony, the program continued with a monthly meeting involving all staff of the Tourism Malaysia Eastern Region office to discuss the journey and progress of the program before, during and in the future. First, I had to scan each voucher that was already stamped by him, and had to be sent using a scanner machine in the order of the vouchers written. The total vouchers are 54 documents and need to be scanned and arranged in order to facilitate the next task.

Among the contents of the vouchers provided are related to claiming salaries or allowances for office staff such as accommodation allowance, transportation allowance, overtime allowance and so on. With this, I have to do it well and organized so that no mistakes will arise and get a satisfactory work result.
