I feel I am inspired by music with more synths and post production as well as taking elements from their close related genres.

this is why I put seemingly a rouge choice of Charlie xcx because the experimental nature of her music and all of the sound design included inside of her music and how she changes the norm of a genre

for an example some of the information I had stored in my head was from some of the while she sleeps documentaries.

Another main source I used was the lost media video of while she sleeps when it comes to talking about their early years

We also spoke to greg about the same thing that day luckily he said he could help us getting the venue for this. this was our biggest problem in the event so far, there was alot of stress in this. We also found out in doing this that the capacity of hallamshire hotel is 100 standing which isn't as many as we would've liked for our event however I think to get anywhere near the amount of people we wanted it would've cost us alot of money. therefore this is best option as well due to the financial element as well it fully having a bar, and a full sound system.

Programme notes - Influence of you doing it

A programme note is an article written in a programme for a play or concert. It provides information about the performance or production, helping the audience make sense of the artistic work. These notes serve as a guide for concert-goers, offering insights into the musical and historical background of the pieces being performed. 

For our purposes, programme notes are the written part of your S1 - where they serve to help the assessor 'make sense of the work'. 

Does it fit within the genre - yes, everyone in metal and adjacent genres are all similar

Do I have my own style - Not hugely

Is it modern - it is defiantly modern.

The Structure we decided to go for was Chorus verse Chorus Bridge Double Chorus. Which felt like it played all the memorable bits While still keeping it compact enough

One Main Challenge was the song being tuned to 432hz which makes playing a regularly tuned guitar along to the track feel abit off however you can fix this by tuning the 432 instead.

As well as this another challenge was the section after the chorus which is timed very difficultly however playing along to the track enough made this timing become normal

Me and holly on the walk to rehearsal came up with the idea of the big chord play and cymbal crash with the chorus melody played over the top This got bought into the rehearsal and it worked very very well as creating an epic sound as well as an ear grabbing intro.

The next Big thing was Slightly funking up the verses while also giving it a more rock feel because they are good to dance to and keep the song still interesting by this we gave the drums a funky groove as well as me and josh giving a rock tone as well as changing the pre chorus strumming pattern to more of a stadium rock strumming pattern

And finally the last thing to make this feel like a festival song was for holly to speak to the crowd as Well as bringing down the song in a section to build for the last double chorus

I feel this went very well on the day and everything went according to plan as well as me being very happy with my playing

Our feeling with this song being for an audition was to have a section where everyone had a solo as well as when playing the song I tried to change chord voicings throughout the song and play sections differently.

The big thing we thought was for holly to introduce us all so that whoever we would be auditioning for would know who we are as well as what we do etc. This took a couple goes to get right however when we did it went so well and also made us alot happier together which is a good image

This went easily and very well our only thought was it felt very boring while playing and to listen to The way we thought to Improve this was to add little solos on each instrument and to try create Some dynamics like lighten down even more sections

This would be easier on my programme notes and I could relate my case study back to myself using example from this assessment as I am highly inspired by both my case study artists in all of the music industry write

Doing this also makes sure that I can get the stretch in the verse of "masochist" as clean as possible because it can be pretty sloppy due to how long the stretch is.

If I am not playing the song In full I am putting half an hour each day to just play the stretched part over and over again until I find it comfortable to play and the notes are as clean as possible.

This song was also a song I wasn't familiar with so I was starting fresh which I think was good for progressing in my ability when it comes to ear learning as well as tab reading if I was sight reading without prior knowledge of the song.

As said before we booked into a practice session to get the song as tight as possible I feel this was good because it would bring us all together and tight as well as it helps because you can look how each other play the songs to get a reference and be able to be as close players as possible

I also feel like doing this makes my future writing alot better due to being able to know where more chord positions are which could help to layer up songs better as well as this it could be a good opportunity to get work in the future because it means you can play songs in any position needed and be in your own frequency range letting other instruments breathe.

I set out to learn the song sweet dreams by guilt trip to solve this due to knowing that this song in particular has alot of these licks in the song and the main hook of this song featuring them largely

To do this I tried learning just on my own then after I went to the guitar play thorough on YouTube posted by the band themselves and try to play along with them as much as possible until I got to a section I didn't know, at this point I would slow the video down to 50 percent watch what they were doing and try to replicate and slowly built up the speed by 10 percent until I could do at full speed.

Then move onto the next section
