http://www.footprintcalculator.org/result1a
The link shared above is the sad reality of my global footprint. Its estimated that if everyone lived like me the earth would be dead by May 15th and we would take up 2.7 earths. This is in part due to the large amount of travel that my family and I travel each week and unfortunately is something we can not change at the moment. Instead of the negatives some positive things that I could change to be more healthy is to eat less meat, especially pork and beef. I eat pork and beef everyday for at least two meals a day. If I where to cut those two meats out of my diet and switch to chicken which I have no problem doing it would greatly reduce my Co2 emissions.

1.Eat less pork/beef
2.Carpool more
3.Start using more renewable sources.

The only one of these that are realistic for my family right now is the eat less pork/beef. Both of my family members need to travel for work and switching to renewable resources and solar for energy is not feasible at the moment. My father who cooks half or more the time is Italian and uses meat in a lot of his dishes and although we get all of our produce locally we go through and entire pig every year and half a cow which is a large amount of meat but we do use every part of the meat, using the head and feet for broth and the guts for cured meats. In my opinion we could do without both of those things but it would definitely be an interesting discussion talking to my dad about reducing the amount of meat we eat.
