My Gym Teacher is an Alien Overload

By: Kieran Lad
Author: David Solomon
Main Characters: Tom, Luke, Zack and Lara

They all are not evil. Also they help other people.
They work together with a secret agency that fights crime all around the city.
The part I adored the most was when, they found out that his gym teacher is a alien and wanted to take over the whole world. But the part I disliked the most was when, Tom was fighting this evil alien because the author didn't give any description on how he felt during that period.
The part of the story that could of been changed as I have stated earlier in the previous paragraph, he could of described more of when he was fighting the evil alien.
I would recommend this book to one of my friends because I think they will enjoy it as how much humour that the book contains. As well as that it is enjoyable to read.

David Solomon

Diary of a wimpy kid By Jeff KinneyReview by Isaac C Main characters: GregCurious and stupid because he does daft things that get him in trouble. He gets snowed in and accidently vandalises the school property, as a result, he has to clean it and drags his mate into it to make the job faster but he's not pleased. Manny and his meltdown I find it amusing there wasn’t anything to dislike; I found it funny In my opinion it was really good and I wouldn’t change any of it. Yes, because he said he would rather get caught up on muddy hand not Fregly. A lot of the stuff in his books happen to me so I understand his point of view. Yes, so the people who disagree with me can get a taste of their own medicine

By David Williams
By Leanne O
1. The main characters are Clarissa and her Cat Blossom.
2. Clarissa loves the colour pink, everything she owns is pink! She hates every type of animal and is especially cruel to cats. Blossom is Clarissa's pet and she got her for her birthday.
3. All the cats Clarissa has been cruel to in the past take revenge by jumping on her and the only way she could stop them was to jump into the pond and keep on ducking under all night! She was finally rescued by her parents who shooed away the cats. Her cat then runs away with the other cats and found a nice new home where they liked cats! Clarissa gets a rabbit for her next birthday.
4. I like the part where the cats take revenge and her cat runs away because she got what she deserved.
5. I liked it all.
6. I would have changed the part where the cats revolt against her and made it longer.
7. The story mad me feel sad for the cats and happy when they got revenge and ran away. There wasn't any funny bits and it was a little scary when the cats woke Clarissa up in the middle of the night.
10. I've learn't never to be cruel to cats as they will take revenge!! It made me think about the poor cats like them.....
11. It's good for people to learn a life lesson that you should treat people how you want to be treated.

By Frances Hodgson Burnett
By Lauren

The main characters are a ten year old girl called Mary Lennox and boys called Dickon Sowerby and Colin Craven. In the beginning Mary was spoilt, petty, rude and obstinate. She had lived in India and was used to having her own way. She was sickly and thin. Colin was also spoilt, anxious and sickly. He had tantrums and thought he was going to die from a lump on his back and stayed in bed most of his life. They were cousins. Mary came to stay with Colin when her parents died. Colin lived with his farther and servants in a mansion.

Dickon was consistently nice, warm hearted and gentle through the story. He lived in a cottage on the moor. Mary was forced outdoors to play and met a gardener called Ben Whetherstaff who had a pet robin. The robin befriended Mary
and showed her the way to a secret door behind a wall of ivy. She found a key in the soil and behind the door was a secret garden that belonged to Colin's mother. Mary and Dickon planted flowers and brought the garden back to life.

One night Mary found Colin in his room crying and sobbing. She pursuaded Colin to leave his room and visit the garden in his wheelchair. The magic and beauty of the garden and their friendship with Dickon helped him to believe he could walk again.

I liked the part when Colin walked because it was inspirational and such a happy ending. I didn't like the part when Mrs medlock shouted at Mary and her maid Martha when she found Colin. The story was very descriptive and some parts were slightly repetitive. I would change this. The story made me feel curious about what would happen next. It had a good ending where the garden, Colin and Mary all grew stronger together.

The book made me realise how important parents are to children. Dickon could have been like Mary or Colin if he didn't have his mother looking after him. Colin made himself ill by thinking about it so much. This was tragic.

I would recommend this book to a friend because the story had good suspense.

Ruby D

In the story the main characters are Chloe ( a lonely 12 year old), Mr Stink ( a smelly tramp ) and the Duchess (Mr Stints dog).

Mr Stink and Chloe are both loving and kind hearted because when Chloe meets him she understands he is poor and needs a home and she cares.

Chloe meets Mr Stink lonely one day on a bench in town and decides to have a chat with him despite her mums disapproval of him. Secretly she invites Mr Stink to live in the family shed. When Chloe’s Mum realises it could be to her advantage when getting voters behind her for being a local MP she agrees to this.

My favourite part of the story is when Chloe’s Mum is on question time and when interviewed she says that she invited him to stay but Mr Stink corrects her and says it was actually Chloe who invited him to stay. Chloe’s Mum goes bright red and doesn’t get elected. The Mum was always very mean to Chloe and Mr Stink made her realise how unhappy she had been making her feel. The family life has improved by having Mr Stink in the family’s lives.

The story made me feel sorry for Mr Stink and homeless people.

I would recommend the story to a friend as I thoroughly enjoyed it. I think David Walliams is an amazing author as I love all of his books especially Billionaires boy, Midnight gang and Ratburger.

Book review by Joseph Parnell‘Skellig’ by David Almond.

The main characters in the story are Michael, Mina and Skellig. Michael is an ordinary boy who makes friends with Mina as he and his family move into a new house. Mina is a home-schooled girl who is reserved, kind and thoughtful; she liked to climb up trees like a monkey and sketch birds and rather interesting animals. Skellig is a creature; technically a human with wings. He is a shadow-coloured man who absolutely loves 27 and 53 Chinese-takeaway food.

What happened: Michael moves house with his family into a rather big house previously owned by Ernie Myers who had mysteriously died. His baby sister had been ill and was mostly in hospital for the entire book, and she could’ve died by the illness, but spoiler alert, she does not. He ended up not going to school for a long time because he was extremely worried about his baby sister, and on the first day off he makes friends with his new neighbour, Mina. Him and Mina discover Skellig in the garage, hiding in the inky blackness. They took him to a secret shed Mina had found some time ago, so that he couldn’t be killed by the builders that were smashing the garage.

At the end of the story, Skellig recovers from arthritis and flies away to discover the world and be free, and the baby had survived the illness and is simply called Joy, as she had been born and instantly had the illness.

I liked everything in the book, especially the part when they find Skellig; it was truly intriguing because they find him lying there, refusing to move, as he has arthritis. As I said before, I liked everything, so there was nothing I didn’t like; I couldn’t change anything because it was so perfect.

The story made me feel a mix of emotions, such as emotional, intrigued, overwhelmed and befuddled. The story made me think about how scary it is for someone you love to have a life-threatening illness, and how nervous you are to move into a new house. I learnt (from Mina) to be quiet around birds, as if you make a sudden movement they would suddenly fly away like it teleported.

I would definitely recommend this story to anyone over the age of around 9, as the words in the story are quite hard to understand.

The main characters in the story are Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

Harry Potter is an orphan who is a wizard who attends Hogwarts School for witchcraft and wizardry. He is an honest and brave character and his friends are Ron ( a ginger haired boy from a full wizarding family ) and Hermione – a smart brown haired girl whose parents are both not magic.

In the story Harry and his friends attempt to solve the mystery of why students of Hogwarts School are being petrified and how this has something to do with the chamber of secrets.

I mostly enjoyed the ending witch was filled with suspense which kept me reading till the end. I couldn’t put the book down!

I really enjoyed the book it was perfectly aimed at my age, there was nothing that I didn’t like!

Most parts of the book I don’t think could be changed although at the end I think that it would have been better if Ron had entered the chamber with Harry instead of being trapped behind the rubble.

Ron as a character was very amusing with the things he said. Although there was nothing scary for me, young readers may need to watch out for the end as there are some mildly gruesome parts.

From the book I learned that if you are stuck in a cave with a basilisk make sure you have a Phoenix and a sorting hat.

I would definitely recommend this book to a friend because it was so gripping inspiring and has now made me move on to the next book of the series.

ethan b

the main character in this book is called Tom. This book is mainly about Tom and his teacher Mr Fallerman. Tom is a nervous boy who does not get along with his teacher very well, because his teacher is bit feisty . I liked it when he got home from school as he and his friend who lives opposite him had to communicate by holding up posters at their windows. This part was funny because they had drawn funny pictures and he got caught by his dad.

I like the story as it has lots of bits where Tom has to be sneaky and he hides a lot. This book makes me smile and feel happy.

I would recommend this book o my friends because its really good read and will make them laugh out loud.
