This benefits the children in many other ways, like learning how to climb the playground which is physical. Experiences like bug finding magnifying glasses to see if there’s something they can find, creating friendships and learning to be kind to each other.

Hattie

Children are exercising their bodies playing outside. They can run, climb, walk, and explore outside. These are mostly the physical domain but it can also be social domain when they’re with other children.

It could be cognitive domain if they’re exploring outside. Kids naturally are curious so they’ll be really looking at small bugs, or looking under rocks and digging through sand to try find things.

-Harriet

The things the children in the photos are benefiting from are physical development (gross motor skills such as climbing), social development (playing together and getting along), cognitive development (how they’re choosing which step to climb onto so that they don’t fall). They’re pre school children so their brains are like sponges, most of them learn very quickly. The weather looks so nice so they’re enjoying playing outside.

-Lisa

The two children are playing together which is social, the two children who are sitting together with a magnifying glass are using social, cognitive and physical. The last child in the photo is using physical and cognitive because he is learning how to climb the playground.

The adult and the infant are using culture and identity because the infant is amaagaujuq, being packed using an amauti.

Children are benefiting by having fun outside, all season long children are allowed outside for fresh air. Children can have a lot of fun outside when we have ideas of what to do outside, like for cold winter, we can be outside for good 5-10 minutes and play parachute or build snowman ( domains are physical, social, emotional and cognitive. During spring we can go sledding or sliding with children ( physical, social, emotional and cognitive) summer we can go out to look for tiny bugs under rocks ( all domains) and during fall we can go berry picking and fishing. ( all domains)

-Holly Kayuryuk

Children are benefitting with fun activities with physical domain such as; gross motor skills ( keeping their balance while running, jumping, skipping and with their arms swinging) here is an example of what we did as a group. When we went outside with a parachute, our instructor introduced us to this game where we pick two children to run as fast as they can to switch spots before they are trapped under the parachute and it will continue until we move on to the next activity.

Verna K.

Culture and Identity:

For me about culture and identity today children are not being taught this due to cell phones, games and online programs. We as parent, grandparents are not teaching our children, grandchildren our cultural and identity, due to be busy with our work or other things. We as some parents are not taught our language , some might not be able to speak well. Also we all have different dialects, so at times we may misunderstood one another.
