●	What is your understanding of deep learning
●	Explain how you as a teacher will know that learners in Grade 5 has a deep understanding of Space and Shape? If there are misconceptions how will you address that in the Maths class

Deep learning is when students fully grasp the content of a specific topic or subject. An examples when a student is able to teach the topic to another as well as use their own descretion to articulate their understanding.
A student has a deep understanding of shapes and space when they can differentiate between the shapes as well as understand the properties that belong to them. Another form of deep understanding if the student is able to draw the shapes as well as construct 3D models. Lastly, they should be able to describe space, transformations and symmetry.
If there are misconceptions, you can teach the topics using different teaching strategies. You can make use of visual aids to teach the content.

It also involves the ability to link what is learned to experiences.
2. When asking questions, learners are able to answer and explain how they got to that answer. They are able to apply their knowledge in real-life situations. allow learners to debate and have group discussions on complex questions.

Deep understanding encourages growth and the desire to know more. When a learner is able to answer a question they could not answer previously, this means they have acquired an understanding they didn't have before. A way of seeing if learners understand the content after a lesson is by using the 3-2-1 strategy. They list 3 things they learned about the lesson, 2 things they loved about it and 1 question they have about the content.

One of the misconceptions in grade 5 Mathematics are 'squares'. Learners may have a problem with identifying the different types of Quadrilaterals such as a rhombus, parallelogram and diamonds.
