Rationale: As the 48th Students’ Council, we strive to empower the student body through our actions, seizing opportunities to create meaningful experiences for them. To be the trigger and enable change and growth as leaders and as a student body. In our service to the college and the nation, we hope to inspire others to make a positive change by empowering and enabling the student body.

Encourages council members to envision possibilities without limits. It’s about fostering creativity and imagining a better future for the school community.

Dare:

Invites taking bold risks and challenging the status quo. It’s a call to step out of comfort zones and embrace new, innovative ideas.

Do:

Focuses on action. After dreaming and daring, it’s essential to implement ideas and bring positive changes to fruition.

Rationale:

This vision is short, memorable, and motivational. It captures the journey from idea to action, empowering students to not only dream big but also to have the courage to pursue and realize those dreams.

“Reaching out” refers to lending a helping hand when necessary and being there for whoever needs it. We serve as a bridge of communication between the college/tutors and the students.

“Lifting up” is to say by stepping in and reaching out, we are inspiring others to dream more, do more, and be more. Together, TJ will fall as one and soar as one.

As the students' council, we strive to foster unity in taking on the responsibilities of being a leader. Leadership is not about having a title, or standing 'above' the rest, but it is about true collaboration and teamwork between everyone involved. Furthermore, we as the students' council stand as leaders of the school, where we must empower and inspire the rest of students, being able to make a difference for the student body.

Praesis ut Prosis means to lead to serve. As the students' council, we are catalysts for change, creating opportunities to empower and inspire the student body. Leadership is about making a difference, and leaving a positive impact on the student body. As leaders, we support, uplift and advocate for out peers. We lead to serve the student body, and the college, not for ourselves. Praesis ut Prosis serves as a call to action - a reminder of our purpose and dedication as student councillors.

"lead with vision" meaning to look beyond the present, understanding the bigger picture, and guiding others to reach a common goal. It means to inspire, empower and influence others to agree on a shared vision which will benefit beneficial for our future. It reminds us that leadership is not about power and authority, but more about having the vision, and idea on how to help others.

"serve with passion" this means to always be deeply committed into everything we do to help make a difference. This emphasises the importance of being enthusiastic and dedicating ourselves wholeheartedly to creating a positive impact on everyone in school. It reminds us to always strive to always do our best and always SERVE WITH PASSION whenever times are tough because of our #whysc. We should be reminded that we lead to make a difference out of our genuine care and passion to help others.

Initiate refers to us taking action and being the driving force behind change. It shows that our role in starting new initiatives and creating projects to work on is all about being proactive about making a meaningful difference

Impact refers to our goal of creating long lasting change. It signifies our determination to leave a positive imprint on the school through our actions. We aspire to make everyone feel empowered by this impact, and be inspired to take action of their own.

Overall this highlights our goal of leading and uplifting others through the action we take and sparking meaningful change during our term as a council.

"unseen strength" represents how we, as leaders take a step back to make space for others' opinions. We work behind the scenes to ensure that we create a positive impact on students in tj. It reminds us on how we should take a step back to empower and inspire others without just taking the spotlight and using our power to instruct people around. It emphasizes that as leaders we should strive to help others reach their full potential, instead of simply helping them do everything.

"unmatched efforts" reflects the lasting impact and influence we leave on students. Even though these efforts may not always be visible, the outcomes and impacts made are unmatched, and create positive change in our school community. It represents how we always try our best to inspire and empower others, roll our initiatives to create opportunities and drive meaningful change.

Bare: We should be transparent to the student body about our plans and ideas and allow them to contribute in turn. This encourages open communication between the council and the student body, strengthens their trust in the council. This also encourages active participation and engagement which creates a more coherent and productive environment.

Bears: Not the scary types of bears, but more like a teddy bear (or the really cute bears in We Bare Bears), they symbolise love, protection, care and companionship, which is what we should give to the student body. We must strive to provide a safe space for everyone, so that they feel loved no matter who they are, or where they come from, so that they never feel undervalued or lonely in their school life.

Rationale: The overall idea of the Cartoon Network show We Bare Bears is to explore the meaning of belonging and to accept others despite any flaws they may have, the main theme about friendship and overcoming fear to protect those we care about. The whole series shows us that we can achieve anything if we have the support of people who care about us. Likewise, we should show the students of TJC that they have our utmost support, and together as one community, we will be able to achieve anything we set our minds to, to build a better Temasek for you and me.

I.e. We (Panda)- Panda represents sensitivity as he seeks belonging and inclusivity (Could represent Relations)

Bare (Grizzly)- Grizzly is outgoing and enthusiastic, he actively participates and seeks to try new things, often stepping out of his comfort zone while also encouraging and motivating his friends to do the same. (Could represent house)

Bears (Ice bear)- Ice Bear represents protectiveness and care for his friends. Despite having a quiet demeanour, he shows his affection and gratitude through his actions. He always ensures that his friends are safe and alright, never leaving their side and always being there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. (Could represent welfare)

It represents our council’s commitment and willingness to act and initiate meaningful events for the college, pushing forward with purpose, and working towards making our college a better space for all TJCians to live, study and play. It reminds us that as leaders, we should always lead with dedication and enthusiasm, to create a positive impact for the college. It empowers us to be dedicated to take action and ignite meaningful change for the college community we serve.

1. (Open minds) We hope to carry an open mind in whatever scenario we put in. We will be open to collaborate and work with new people, embracing everyone's ideas and perspectives equally. This way we will be able to foster a collaborative environment where we can all reach our goals together as one council.

2. (Open hearts) We hope to also serve with empathy and compassion, caring about how others feel too. We will be kind and supportive to our team members and to the people we are serving.

This represents how not only we will be enthusiastic and willing to serve and lead, but how we will also take action and not wait idly for things to happen. This vision represents a council that is active in contributing to and serving the school.

The student council should be a safe space were councilors can grow. It should serve as a catalyst for self growth and reflection

"Inspire":

As the 49th Students’ Council, we strive to serve as role models for the student body. To serve as a catalyst and enable change and growth as leaders in the student body student body. In our service to the college and the nation, we hope to inspire others to make a positive change by empowering and enabling the student body.

"Include":

United as one we should ensure every voice is heard and no one is left behind.

“To greater heights” refers to us TJCians working together to reach a common goal, in which we will all try our best to improve our TJC and make it soar to greater heights

Rationale: "Carpe diem", meaning "Seize the day", reminds us to always strive to do our best daily, not leaving to do tomorrow what could be done today. As a Students' Council, this is a constant reminder for us to lead and serve with all our heart, doing it with passion and purpose. It also calls us to seize the opportunities that we will encounter and make the most out of them, taking every opportunity as a chance to grow. This will motivate us to make the most out of our council journey, constantly "seizing the day" and striving to do our best in whatever we do to become good role models for the rest of the student body.
