To proclaim oneself as a dandy is a protest in itself. My ultimate goal was to resemble Trip Fontaine (young version) from The Virgin Suicides. I think he perfectly embodies the 1970s style that  I was attempting to recreate. is perfect for my interpretation of the Dandy style because it was a time when individuals, like hippies and minority groups, stood up against the government to fight for themselves. The 1970s were known as a period of rebellion and cultural changes brought about by protest. Similarly, my Dandy outfit represents pieces of that era while also incorporating pieces of myself.

The pink glitter top hat come from a post cross country meet dollar store trip and definitely adds a sparkle of color. My blue circular glasses are kinda giving a john lennon moment, even though he wasn't dandy, these glasses add to the look. In 2019 an image of a girl in a yellow pearl blouse with a floral skirt went viral, i bought the outfit and have not worn either pieces in a year and a half, however, this blouse has a similar look to the dandy pussy blouse so I chose to add it to the outfit. Along with this lavender blazer, I own matching lavender straight leg pants with a fun pattern bow tie and contrasting brown, pink, and orange pattern pants.
