         <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><br>DxDiag</strong> ("Directx Diagnostic Tool ") is a diagnostics tool used to test DirectXfunctionality and troubleshoot video- or sound-related hardware problems. DirectX Diagnostic can save text files with the scan results. These files are often posted in tech forums or attached to support emails in order to give support personnel a better idea of the PC the requester is using in case the error is due to a hardware failure or incompatibility.<br><br></div><div><br>DxDiag is located in *SystemRoute*\System32.          <description><![CDATA[<div><strong><br>CHKDSK</strong> (short for "<strong>ch</strong>ec<strong>k</strong> <strong>d</strong>i<strong>sk</strong>") is a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/System_software">system tool</a> in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOS">DOS</a>, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OS/2">OS/2</a> and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows">Windows</a>. It verifies the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_system">file system</a> integrity of a <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volume_(computing)">volume</a> and fixes logical file system errors. It is similar to the <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fsck">fsck</a> command in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unix">Unix</a>.<br><br></div><div><br>On <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_NT">Windows NT</a> operating systems, CHKDSK can also check the disk surface for <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bad_sector">bad sectors</a> and mark them (in <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS-DOS">MS-DOS</a> 6.x and <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_9x">Windows 9x</a>, this is a task done by <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_ScanDisk">Microsoft ScanDisk</a>).
