In Hebrew menorah means candlestick. My menorah has small symbols on it that represent the 12 tribes of Israel. My ancestors used it to light the temple during  priestly ceremonies, times like Passover, God’s Holy Days and the feast days. Our traditions, heritage, and identity was lost when we were taken from our home land, scattered around the world and sold into slavery. Today my family honors our ancestors traditions and our culture by celebrating the feast days that they celebrated and we use the menorah.
