This book is about an owl named Plop. If normal owls will sleep during the day and hunt for food at night. But Plop, he is different he want to be a day bird because of he afraid of the dark. Every time his parents go out to hunt for food in the night, he always refuse to go hunting with his parents because he is afraid of darkness. His mother think Plop don’t really know about the dark, so in every day his mother asks him to ask the people what darkness is meaningful to them. The answer which he got is that the young boy said dark is exciting. The old lady said dark is kind. The boy scout said dark is fun .The little girl said dark is necessary. The father god said dark is fascinating. The man with the telescope said dark is wonderful and Orion the black cat says dark is beautiful. At first he still afraid with Darkness, but when he had asked many of them, he know about the dark in many aspect. At last he change his mind about the dark. He accept that the dark is not scary anymore and finally he can go hunting with his parent.

I think this book would help people to learn that something which they scared of maybe because they do not know about it well ,but if they really know about it maybe there will have the good side which they never know.

My favorite part is that the owl tried to ask and learned about the thing that he afraid. It make me realize that when I have something I scared of I should learn and try to know more about it instead of escape it.
