I have also learnt the much more detailed illustration of the whole hydrological cycle and that a water deficit affects us humans in the sense that we might not be able to be supplied water for consumption or may have to expend more due to increase in water prices if our importing countries experience droughts or dry spells. On the other hand, a water surplus is not inherently bad as insufficient water would not be a problem to us. However, it is not something that is inherently good either as we may experience floods.
