I think it's a racial advertisement that's basically saying if you buy the "Pears Soap" you will stay white and not be known as "dirty" or "they"- the other nations; and will stay above the rest based off how you look. In the bottom right hand corner of the photo you can see a white man taking over or commanding a much darker man. S.M.

" the savage wars of peace" that's connected to imperialism because the white man came to these countries peaceful and when they were disobeyed they most likely was killed and the "savages" who weren't savages they were peaceful

This picture called "white mans burden is something we also got taught in miss Alvarez which means the white people took it upon their selfs to help civilize and educate the natives from different country's to make them get advanced just like them. This is what caused imperialism. This is also stated in the picture where it states " it's a potent factor in britening the darkest corners of the earth as civilization advances". which means they're trying to help the natives thrive, by trying to make them just like their selfs also called white mans burnden as in it's their burden to help the natives get civilized.

I think in the picture there's a deeper meaning than a white guy just washing his hands. I say this because instead of speaking upon the cleanliness of the body he speaks on cleaning the earth. Can it be the earth he is speaking about? Or the "dirty" people on it?
