I found in my experience that the language of dance,drama and music all unison together as when it started to rain heavy making the day time turn into drama that made the birds begin to sqwark which made me think of music through the language of wildlife as they flew across into the tall gumtrees which were swaying side to side from the wind and dramatic rain.

When I was closing my eyes and started my journey I connected with the practice of dadirris deep listening and connection to country as I began to hear the language around me and remember her describing to be come aware of the more than human in our environments. It makes me think of my own journey and centre philosophy of how we strive to connect and become grounded to our land and environments on country.

For me as an educator the experience has me thinking that I need to twerk my slow pedagodgy philosophy by embracing a slower pace as part of daily practice in the babies room and to begin our on country community walks with the children as this will start their own respecting journey of the earth and will inspire them from a young age to create their own connection with nature and hopefully create a deeper connection with country.

Through my experience I smelt the freshness as the rain came pouring down i could see the trees swaying across from left to right and the birds fly and land in the high tree tops and the flag dance across the pole into the sky i could hear the sound of birds and the rain as it dropped onto the tin roof . I felt fresh and relaxed as the sound of rain makes me calm. It was almost like I could taste a little bit of the eucalyptus leafs as the smell got stronger when the rain activated its aroma. I could sense before taking the video it was going to rain as the day sky turned to night the temperature dropped and the cockatoos started to go crazy. The experience made me feel overall calm and at times made me jump when the massive crack of thunder occurred as I was least expecting it but overall it was a relaxing time.

This experience made me think that the environment and nature has so much power and how it really does tell its own story through its own language. This connected me to victor wooten who mentions in his ted talk that to be musical you need to be a good listener so to connect to country you really need to listen to the land to connect to country. This experience made me think about memories of my childhood when their was a thunderstorm my siblings and I would get our pillows and blankets and run out onto the deck and sit against the back of the wall and watch the thunderstorm unravel and would have bets on when we think the lightning would strike or thunder would crack.

The languages of dance,drama and music children experience these during play in the natural world by

. Using rocks and banging them together

. Using sticks and hitting them across fences or trees

. Splashing in puddles

My creative work idea of a song came to me as I had if your happy and you know it stuck in my head from having playing it at work all day and thought I could change the lyrics to it to relate to my experience. The experience overall kept the mutton bird video in mind of the dark lightning and the dramatic performance of my experience of country.
