This project encapsulates Romeo and Juliet's love for each other and how it affects of their love was dangerous to themselves and their families. While Romeo and Juliet's love is an example of love that has been praised for hundreds of years it is also a story of infatuation and passion Romeo and Juliet ultimately presents the theme that passion and love can be both rewarding and dangerous. In this project I tried to show the good and bad in Romeo and Juliet's relationship and how it affected others.

The Invitation

I created a wedding invitation for Romeo and Juliet's marriage. I gave the invitation a yellow theme because yellow is seen as the color of impatience. Romeo and Juliet's impatience led them to their quick marrige and tragic deaths. i also put a plant on the card to symbolize the poison that Juliet drank that caused the miscommunication which led to their deaths. In the text Friar Lawrence states"The noble Paris and true Romeo lay dead./ She wakes; and I entreated her to come forth/ And bear this work of heaven with patience;/but then a noise did scare me fromt he tomb,/ And she, too desprate, would no go wth me, But as it seems, did violence on herself,(Lawrece,5,3,259-264)". The Friar explains that Juliet was to impatient with the death of Romeo and ended up killing herself after his death, continuing the theme of impatience that both Romeo and Juliet had in light of their deaths.

In this newspaper, we can see how Romeo and Juliet's infatuation and deaths affect their family. While their deaths helped the families realize that their feud killed their childen it could have been prevented entirely if they hadn't rushed to become married. In the text the Prince says "Where be these enemies? Capulet, Montague,/ see what scourge is laid upon your hate,/ The heaven finds means to kill your joys with love!/ And I, for winking at your discords too,/ Have lost a brace of kinsmen. All are punished. While Romeo and Juliet's young and impulsive love is one of the reasons for their death the Capulet and Montague's passionate hate for each other is one of the root causes for the tragedy.

Romeo's Pinterest Board

Romeo is seen as a loverboy who isn't a fighter like his family wants him to be. However, Romeo seems to have more infatuated feelings towards the people he's loved. For example, Romeo was obsessed with Rosaline but the moment he saw Juliet he immediately forgot about her and became obsessed with Juliet. This why on this Pinterest board I added pins that had to do with infatuation while also showing Romeo's lover personality. In the text, Mercutio says "You are a lover. Borrow Cupid's wings/and soar with them above a common bound,(Mercutio,1,4,17-18)". Romeo's passion for love fuels his impatience and his impulsiveness causing much of the conflict in the story.

Juliet's Spotify playlist reflects her love for Romeo and her loyalty and persistence. While Romeo wants to take their relationship at full speed, Juliet wants to slow down. She is a passionate girl who knows what she wants and will stand up for what she wants. Even saying that she would rather die than marry Paris which we can see when she says "He shall not make me there a joyful bride!(Juliet,3,5,117)" This shows how headstrong Juliet is, as she refuses her parents and declares she will not get married to Paris. The use of the exclamation mark heightens Juliet's emotions as she is shouting her refusal.

Romeo's exile is another example of his love for Juliet. When facing Tybalt he is determined not to fight him since they are now family however the passionate hate that Tybalt has for the Montagues gets in the way of peace and ends with Tybalt's death. We can see this when Romeo says "Till thou shalt know the reason of my love;/ And so, good Capulet, which name I tender/ As dearly as mine own, be satisfied, (Romeo,3,1,65-68)." While their passionate love has allowed Romeo and Juliet's family to connect their family but passionate hate for each also destroys their family.
