"This is my letter to the world, that never wrote to me." (Pg. 552)
The correlation to this quote refers to the theme of the poem due to the main point of nature not caring for people. It gives the old term, "The world doesn't revolve around you." which is prevalent in real life.

Question 6: What is the theme (the central idea) of this poem? Can you state it in a single sentence? Elaborate on your idea.

The theme of the poem is the destructive nature of nature itself. It explains how nature really simply doesn't care for you; "the simple News that Nature told"(pg. 552). The quote explains that it is "simple news" the way Nature is treating you: harshly and without care.

Question 3: What images does the poet use? How do the images relate to one another? Do these images form a unified pattern (a motif) throughout the poem?

The poem images were the letter, hands, and the countrymen. The letter correlates with the hands in terms of giving out to the world, showing how she feels even though she's secluded in her room. The country men correlates to the hands of caring for one another rather than to leave them in the dust. Yes, since the poem rhymes and gives a steady beat throughout.

Literary Focus Question 8: How do these poems reflect Dickinson's concerns with faith and immortality?

In the poem when it says, "This is my letter the World, that never wrote to me." It's showing the fact that Emily feels that the world doesn't care for her in all aspects. She feels that she doesn't have faith in the world because it does not have any reason to do so. Immortality is just a figment of everyone's imagination since everything dies one way or another.
