In Philippine Pop Culture, I am interested in a lot of things in different aspects--music, dramas, fashion, and many more. In music, I like listening to local artists from Davao such as 3AM, Eccit, and PlayerTwo. I am huge fan of 3AM specifically as their song is somehow inspired of the music of The 1975. I like their song Kubli the most as the storyline goes like a person regretting his decisions of letting go the person he loves. As music is diverse as we are, we do listen to different kind of genres and one of it are like those Kpop genres and other music genres from western countries. Although, some may as well support or listen to P-pop songs but in my own observation, people tend to listen local music or songs from artists that are only well-known in the country or those who we call celebrities. However, there are so many artists that makes good music which only lacks support from us. P-pop or local musics still made an impact to every listener. One reason as well that listeners actively support is for entertainment and enjoyment especially if the music have relatable lyrics such as about love, friendship, and life lessons. Second, cultural belongingness, Filipinos have been so supportive to any artists that is also Filipino as this way this could as well promote our country and the talents of the Filipinos as well--collectivism in other words. Lastly, emotional connection and for expression. Some people tend to listen to music because they have the sense of connection to the story of the music or even to the artists.
