A seventh grade girl named Kristy Thomas has an idea to start a babysitters' club and asks her friends, Mary Anne Spier and Claudia Kishi, to join. She does this because one night her mom couldn't find a sitter for David Michael, her youngest brother. She has two other brothers, too. Their names are Sam and Charlie. 
Anyway, back to the club. So Kristy asks Mary Anne and Claudia two questions. The first one was about where they could meet, and the second one was about who else they should add to the club. Claudia said she could answer both. She said they should meet in her room, because she has a phone in there AND she has her own private number. And she said they should add her friend Stacey McGill, who was new in town. So they did that, and the club went REALLY well. I give this book five stars. *****

When they're out on sitting jobs, The Babysitters Club keeps getting funny phone calls. They wouldn't have thought much of it, except they did, because there is a thief called The Phantom Caller, and on the news, it said before he struck, he would make multiple phone calls where he just hung up without saying a word, which was the exact same type of calls The Babysitters Club kept getting. They kept calling emergency meetings, and they thought of things like burglar alarms, and a secret code that they said when they called another member of The Babysitters Club, which meant that whoever they called should call the police. The code was: 'Have you found my red ribbon?' (That was what the sitter in trouble said.) Then, in case the burglar was listening in on an extension, the other person said: 'No, the blue one.' Then, if the sitter wasn't sure there was trouble, they would say: 'Thats fine.' But if they knew there was trouble, they would say: ' Now I'm in for it.', which meant the person who wasn't sitting should call the police. The code was only used once, by Claudia and Kristy. (They were sitting together.) But it turned out Kristy's caller WASN'T The Phantom Caller. It was this boy Alan Gray, who had a crush on her. So that explained KRISTY'S caller. But what about CLAUDIA'S? Well, long story short, she got a call from HER caller later, who was a boy she had a TOTAL crush on, Trevor Sandbourne. Turns out he called because he liked Claudia! I give this book five stars.*****

This Babysitters Club book is based off of Stacey McGill's perspective.( Book one was Kristy's perspective, book two was Claudia's.) Stacey is from New York, and she has diabetes. It was about how Stacey GOT her diabetes, and some parts of it were visits to her doctors. She had four main doctors. Well, four doctors that were included in the book. Her old doctor (The one she had in New York) was named Dr. Werner. Her new Stoneybrook doctor was someone I forgot the name of. Another doctor she visited was Dr. Barnes. The other one was Dr. Graham. (Theres an interesting story behind his visit.) I'll start with that. So, when Stacey's parents tell her about Dr. Barnes, she talks to one of her clients, Dr. Johanssen. She always talked too Dr. Johanssen about her diabetes, even though she wasn't one of her doctors.                 
So when Stacey talked to Dr. Johanssen, she set up a surprise appointment for Stacey with Dr. Graham and wrote a note to her parents that she gave to them after they visited Dr. Barnes. I highly recommend this book and give it 5 stars!!!
