All students have the potential to excel when provided with a high-quality education that is conformed to meet their individual learning abilities. When students are provided with the appropriate resources tailored to their individual needs, they are at an advantage to succeed in postsecondary opportunities as well as developing a lifelong love for learning that will carry into their career success. Our student's academic, social/emotional, and college success is ensured when students have access to comprehensive counseling programs and when we as a student body come together and collaborate on positive ways we can create systemic change for all students.

My personal philosophy is based on the ASCA National Model School Counselor Professional Standards and Competencies which are:
M 1. Every student can learn, and every student can succeed.
M 2. Every student should have access to and opportunity for a high-quality education.
M 3. Every student should graduate from high school prepared for postsecondary opportunities.
M 4. Every student should have access to a school counseling program.
M 5. Effective school counseling is a collaborative process involving school counselors, students, families, teachers, administrators, other school staff and education stakeholders.
M 6. School counselors are leaders in the school, district, state and nation.
M 7. School counseling programs promote and enhance student academic, career and social/emotional outcomes.


Vision statement:

Every student will achieve the enriching academic, career, and social/emotional skills necessary to fulfill their academic potential and promote psychological well-being and physical health. All students will successfully manage their lives as responsible and proactive citizens that respect themselves and others.
